How often can you say that GT is the best looking chick in the beauty pageant?
 
What the hell is the problem with hiring hatcher, surely we can offer him enough money to leave, and surely he wants to coach football at a higher level in the state of Georgia.. If we just hired him then this would make everybody happy and end this bull****. makes me sick to think that duke and smu can get a coach we want. I thought we were on a higher level than that
 
They most certainly can pay, but the question is will they? I think (and kinda hope) D-rad should say, PJ, here's our offer and it comes off the table at X time (soon). And if he accepts it, fine, if not... CH.
 
Duke doesn't have the cash to get PJ. Duke is looking for a coach in the $1.0-1.2 million range. PJ is $1.8 million+.

I don't know, SMU is rumored to have lots of cash, lower academic requirements and the texas recruit pool is deep, even after UT, A&M and OU are done with their share.

Alleva was quoted as saying he would go as high as 2 mil for a head coach this time, i think SOS reccommended PJ

We may be the best looking, but we sure aren't the richest...if SMU puts down the cash, and if that is what motivates PJ, he is not coming here...

Yes, it's not an ideal situation but we knew what we were getting into when the decision was made to move past Gailey.
 
Okay, Spurrier went to Duke's AD to "advise" him on finding Roof's replacement. PJ is evidently at the top of Duke's list. Anyone know if there might be a connection between PJ and Spurrier or if Spurrier might have even mentioned PJ to Alleva? Not that it makes a difference at Tech, but I'm just wondering.
 
Being from Dallas trust me SMU has a lot of big time rich alumni that can dish out whatever is required to get someone they want. That said, I think PJ would prefer coming here since it would be more familiar terrain.
 
Take this for what's it worth but a post on The Hive says "What I've heard is that SMU and Duke are willing to pay
$1.5 million to $1.8 million, while we are in the $1.2 million range for Paul Johnson."

I've heard the 1.8 from SMU, but I haven't heard how much Duke is offering.

I read last night that SMU had pooled together about 10mil. I can't find the post to give you a reference though.
 
Isn't he making $1.5 mil at Navy? I think I saw that posted somewhere.
