A post on the hive says Chan Gailey is the best coach we can get. Maybe we should just give up football.

I have come to the conclusion from reading message boards that the average fan (in fact, about 70%) has no idea what he/she is watching when viewing a football game. The entire depth of the average fan's knowledge goes like this: If we win it's good, if we lose, its bad. The most prolific posters on the boards tend to fall in this category.

The only thing that separates the majority of pro-Chan folks from the majority of anti-Chan folks is the single issue of whether or not being over .500 is good enough, and if there is another issue, it's losing to Georgie. From there, they really can't tell you why, Chan is, or is not, a good/bad coach.

Wow the depth of your profundity knows no bounds.:laugher:

Your inability to read my entire post qualifies you for a UGa diploma. Your inability to recognize that a quote, posted by another poster, is taken out of context is grounds for revocation of the UGa diploma. Even they have some standards.

However, thanks for showing up to represent the stupid fans that my post refers to. Judging from the emoticons, ignorance truly is bliss.

You are also incorrect with this. Many feel that being over .500 isn't good enough, but see with recruiting and change of the OC that we are better off staying this new course rather than enter into the coaching crapshoot. With Michigan, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Baylor, Ole Miss, and probably Arkansas looking for head coaches, this is probably not the best year to be looking with our relatively paltry budget.
