O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

day long. Even in 4th qtr, when EVERY D PLAYER knew we were gonna run, they were still mostly knocking holes to pick up 4-5 yds. Man, if only Hollings coulda run behind that line today. Bet he would've had 210+ out there. Eziemefe is a very good back who'll get better, but the real accolades go the O-linemen

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

Oh what will Beeware say now after his piching his little hissy fit last week about our offensive line and offensive line coach. Just proves what I have always known..........Beeware does not know jack about football!

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

As I stated previously, the key to this game was improvement in the o-line. We did get improvement in the o-line and it showed in improved play by the entire offense.
I said the o-line would be the key and it was.

83, could you possibly 'quitcherwhinin'??

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

beeware ... as you keep pissing and rattling that there has been a "significant downgrade" in our o-line coaching ...

how in the blazes did our o-line play "improve" if we don't have the coaches? who the hell are you anyways to judge how good or bad the coaching is?

dave braine hired the BEST coach available to us after o'leary left with his big ego and his big stomach.

chan "buc" gailey did an AWESOME job keeping the spirits of this team up after a week full of adversity.

go back to UGA puppy!

beeware is a MOLE

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

Beeware,

Let me remind you of what else you said. You said the offensive line coach stunk and he was the worst we have had at Tech. Conveniently, you failed to give him any credit. Did the offensive line just magically improve by itself? You Beeware are the ultimate whinner

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">beeware .. how does the o-line improve if we have had a significant downgrade in the coaching since the seattle bowl? please explain

Overall, this staff is a significant downgrade from the Seattle Bowl staff....especially the o-line and wide receivers coaches. A full time special teams coach has not been very effective either (klimpsum game was particularly bad).
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">here is your quote from a previous thread to refresh your memory beeware

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

My pregame analysis is below in bold in its entirety. I stand by my analysis.

The key to the UNC game is our offensive line, in particular our o-line coaching. We have had a significant downgrade in our o-line coaching, from almost any of our past coaches, especially Mac and Marrone.
The run blocking has been decent...not great. Most of Tony Hollings yards, especially the first 3 games, occurred when the play was designed to go inside, but nothing was there, so he cut it outside on his own.
The pass blocking was a little better against BYU, but was downright pathetic against klimpsum...even though they were only rushing 3 or 4 guys. Most of the time against klimpsum, AJ barely had time to even look for the first receiver, if not just downright protect the ball during an immediate sack.
I am not that concerned about our running game. We don't have anyone with the combination of power and speed that Tony had, but we have some talent back there..even if they are young.
If the o-line coaching and play improves, especially pass blocking, we will be fine and win this game. I don't blame AJ for being a little shell-shocked after the lack of pass blocking at the klimpsum game. If we pass block like we did against klimpsum again, even Johnny Unitas would have trouble...may he rest in peace.
Here's to hoping our o-line play (especially pass blocking) improves against UNC...we will need significantly improved o-line coaching to accomplish our goals.

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

great analysis beeware ... yeah ... you analyzed that we need improved o-line play to succeed.

and sure enough .. there was improved o-line play ... and sure enough .. we succeeded

my question is ... since there has been a QUOTE .. "significant downgrade" in the o-line coaching position .. how did we improve in the o-line play?

step down that crazy stand you have taken on the current coaching personnel and accept that this week the o-line coach must have done his job well!

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

If the o-line coaching..... improves, especially pass blocking, we will be fine and win this game.

What about the above quote did you not understand?

what part of this question do you not understand?

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

One last try.
Our o-line coaching is a definite downgrade from Mac and Marrone.
And I don't think I have ever seen a worse exhibition of offensive coaching than what I saw at klimpsum.
But, to give credit where due, the o-line did improve in the second half of the BYU game, and continued that improvement in the North Carolina game. It shouldn't be that hard to grasp what I just said....even for you.
If you don't agree...so what?

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">OHMAHGOD ... beeware actually gave credit where QUOTE and i paraphrase "credit is due" ... well so nice of you to give credit where credit is due beeware .. how awfully nice of you. atleast you gave credit where credit is due even though i had to beat it out of you

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">no it isn't ... what are your credentials for judging o-line coaching? who are you to pass judgement on the caliber of any coach? what is your basis of making such a "definite" statement?

just because Braine didn't hire your favorite coach in the whole wide world doesn't mean that the present coach has been "significantly downgraded" you jackass!

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">Come on Beeware... get off the soapbox for a sec.. let me see if I can refresh your memory a bit... last years UGA game !! We were terrible, pushed all over the field... The 2nd half of the Peach Bowl against LSU.... not exactly what I would call a stellar offensive performance...

The line looked good yesterday... just leave it at that... not that I disagree with you about us looking bad against Clemson... but to say that we have downgraded is just your opinion... in my opinion... we havent... I like where we are going much moreso than where we have been... I guess that makes one of us happy and the other miserable doesnt it....

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

j-guy,
Let me get this straight.
You are saying that you have an opinion and that I have an opinion.
That is truly amazing.

Another transition that had to be made by the entire offensive line came in the spring with the addition of new coach Joe D'Alessandris, who joined the staff after a successful five-year tenure at Duke. According to Reilly that change has only helped Tech's performance on the offensive side of the ball.

"Coach D as been real good," said Reilly. "We've got a few different things going on, but we had a good spring practice and got a lot of things going then. Now with the preseason and the first few weeks of the season, we've really come together. He's been a great coach for us and has really got us going."
<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">beeware may not think much of our o-line coaching but our center Hugh Reilly sure does.

i'd stick my neck out and suggest that the starting center on MA TECH's football team know's more about o-line coaching than john doe (beeware)

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">man, Jeremy Noel, who wrote this article hit the nail right on the head. however i won't go so far to say that beeware is an "average observer". i would go further and say that beeware is an ignorant observer.

ignorant observers like beeware might think that there is significant downgrade in our o-line coaching however recognition by teammates and coaches makes up for any lack of support.

here's to our o-line coach and the entire o-line! you guys are doing a great job. sure, you had an off day at Clemson but almost all of us appreciate your efforts and applaud your performance at UNC

Re: O-line knocked huge holes in NCar\'s D all

The o-line puts out tremendous effort and is making progress as has been previously pointed out.
They were set back by a very unnecessary coaching change, but they are slowly but surely making their way back.
The efforts of our o-line is very much appreciated as are the efforts of all of our fine athletes.
We sometimes forget that coaching changes (especially unnecessary coaching changes) can be very hard on the athletes.
It is a tribute to them that they have weathered this unnecessary coaching change so well; when it was so obvious, and so well publicized that the players lobbied VERY HARD to keep the SEATTLE BOWL coaching staff.

Again, a big
to the fine athletes that represent TECH so well.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">yes .. i saw the seattle bowl and rejoiced at the way tech came out under Mac and beat Stanford. it was awesome! Mac looked great, BOB did great (especially the reverse which led to a touchdown in the 2nd half) and even Roof's bend but not break defense did just that for once that season .. it bent but didn't break.

yes the players loved the Seattle Bowl coaching staff and lobbied hard. but they did not know who the alternatives were going to be at that time.

why don't you take a survey right now and ask the players who they want as coach now .. Chan or Mac.

beeware, your opinion that the coaching changes were unnecessary is yours and you're stuck with it just like someone is constipated and stuck on the pot while working on his morning constitution.
(by the way you post, the above sure does sound like your daily morning routine)

take some laxatives and get rid of your turdiness beeware
