Last night on Monday Night Football:

Obama went in a very different direction, noting his frustration with the college football post-season, driven by the absurd "Bowl Championship Series system." Obama told Berman, "I think it is about time that we had playoffs in college football. I'm fed up with these computer rankings and this and that and the other. Get eight teams -- the top eight teams right at the end. You got a playoff. Decide on a national champion."

By the way, how do you change your avatar?

Now thats actually a real reason not to vote for Obama

The Obama BCS playoff format would look like this:

Alabama, Penn State, Texas Tech, USC, etc... would have to give up their hard earned and rightful BCS spots for;

Idaho vs Toledo
North Texas vs Army
San Diego State vs Harvard
SMU vs Florida A&M

That's your "top 8?"

He was joking about playoffs in a socialist society.

The "rich" teams give up their spots to the "poor" teams.

Lol.

So anyone who complains on Stingtalk about polls and wants a playoff, I can accuse of wanting to Obamify Football, now, right?

This is going to be awesome.

McCain or Obama could have instantly gotten my vote if they had said, "The one thing I would change about sports is removing you from doing NFL highlights on ESPN, Boomer."

If you stop him from doing the NFL highlights, he may start doing the highlights for sports I give a **** about. Please keep him on the college retirement league, and away from my beloved college football.

You guys don't like my old one better? I would show it but for some reason I'm not cleared for attachments. (It was Henry VIII with another sort of belly.BHC2763.jpg

I remember the old avatar. But I prefer the girl who can take a pounding.

I finally found something that I agree with obama on. I know I am in the minority but watching the FCS playoffs for the past five years I must say that I think it is a much better system. And then teams in the FBS will actually earn NCAA trophys unlike now. Not a single FBS school has a NCAA Football national championship and that would change if they used a playoff system.

EDIT: I know marshall and other former I-AA / FCS schools that are current FBS have real NCAA trophys.

At least he has some advisors that are familiar with CFB.

I nominate Beej67 to the newly created cabinet position of Secretary of CFB, under Obama.

[Has Beej ever bombed anything? That would help.]

The thing about 8-team playoff:
We could have been in it this year as the ACC champ, just a small chance..

It wouldn't be based on conference champions, because that would completely eliminate the importance of OOC games. Sure you could offer one or two at large spots, but it would still kill the appeal of most OOC games.
