This team really does hate noon starts.
1) I think this is the most beat up team I have ever seen at Tech and that goes back to 1969. There are KEY players that are playing hurt and IMO they need to remove themselves from the field instead of doing too much macho.
Two in particular stood out, one is on offense the other defense. Hopefully they both can go next week. If not we could be in more trouble then we're already in. But good golly if you can't do half your job then get out.
The offense has been battered all season and now I am afraid that the defense is severely beat up also.
2) I love TC, but it's amazing the difference when Nesbitt hits the hole versus TC right now. Nesbitt has serious wheels. It's too bad that Dwyer hasn't picked up his whole job yet because we need him.
3) I have to believe that Nesbitt needs to work on some different muscles this off season because he can not defend a full out strip move.
4) I like Taylor but his footwork is just not good enough. He needs to protect the ball too.
5) BUT, our OL did not protect as well as they need to and that was generally with a 4 man rush!
6) Morgan Burnett had a good game but he's hurt too I think (not too serious or I wouldn't have pointed it out.)
7) Greg Smith is turning it around and that is something I just didnt' think I'd say.
8) Bebe is not. HOWEVER, #8 did an admirable job at the end of the game to make an attempt on a pass into quadruple coverage that was going to get intercepted, AND he paid for it. Nice effort on that one.
9) If Davis stays, they are going to be a great football team. He is an impressive coach and totally dictated the game to a better team. They still found a way to lose however.
10) Jahi made a very very good read and breakup on that 2 point conversion failure by UNC.
11) Our kickoff teams looked bad until Evans made a very important play. And it was important for field position alone, something we didn't have the whole game.
12) How many times can I scream it at a game. If you play not to lose you will lose all too often. We are lucky that the grass at BDS is a little worn and thinner from the drought and end of the season to get that victory in the end.
12) But it is a victory. Why do they feel less than satisfying? I am really hoping that this is all just the injury bug and post probation lack of depth, but we look like a program that's hurting right now.
