Offensive Line Strength

IMHO it seems that part of the problem with Tech last night was offensive line strength. When you move the ball as well as Tech did inside the 20s but can't score that usually means that you are not as physical as the opponent. Between the 20s you can spread an opponent's defense, but when things get tight inside the red zone you have to have power to knock some folks off the ball. This seemed to be a significant issue last night.

dude .. you have no idea what ur talking about.
have you checked the facts about our red zone scoring?

please look up some facts before you make bold statements.

of course you're a mutt so i don't need to supply you with the stats and i can trust you to figure that out by urself. right?

Ylojk8 - You guys had 400+ yards of offense but few points. That is the stat. Why didn't you put points on the board? I say you didn't match up strong enough on the offensive line. What's your take on it? I am speaking about last night when you played Maryland. I am not talking about your games against UConn or the ladies of Wake Forest.

Forever. We've done well in the redzone this year other than the MD game. We didn't seem to have much focuse in out game plan offensive with any sort of power game. We've been able to knock people off the ball this year better than recent years. Why was it abandoned? I don't know. There was a great time to seal block the corner for a TD when it was 3rd and short. We went off tackle, and stuffed by Henderson. Everyone in the building knew he was coming. Why we even went at him not blocking him is beyond me. Bad play calling and execution both if you ask me. That was our 3 pts for the first half. The play before was not the time to do end around. The D was spread out, unlike the Seattle bowl when Mac called that play. Yes, Mac not O'B called that in Seattle. Heck of a play call. The time before that Thomas made a great run on a reverse off option. Again the D was spread out. We weren't baiting for these plays. We were trying to be cute. Lavon did it on his own. Super run. Down inside the one with two times to get it in. That when you show them who you are and pound that thing quick in there for a td. Nothing cute. No deep hand offs. That's what I think anyway.

Y'all are all right.

We have been efficient in the red zone most of the year, BUT Whateverdawg is correct in his assessment about the Md game. Our power game was not strong enough to punch it in. But some times we selfdestructed with penalties and poor play calling.
