Official 2013 Recruiting Thread.

Re: Re: Official 2013 Recruiting Thread.

Something to lift the spirits of the recruiting followers...

LB RaeJuan Marbley (Destrehan, Louisianna) 6'0" 215

- No offers yet, but is being looked at by the SE powers
- Grew up a big GT fan (not sure of the specific reason)
- Academics are a big factor

247 Analyst Sonny Shipp tweeted this a few months ago:
"Destrehan LB Rae-Juan Marbley is at the top of the charts in La for LBs in 2014. Ga Tech may be the team to beat when all is said and done."

Very cool! Is it "ray-jawn" or "rawan"? He's got good size, I'm curious to see tape. Wonder if it puts a squash on Paul's 'gotta get out of the south to get academics' take this week.

Double post but volnation is already talking about him. Is it just me or is it weird how much we are competing with Tennessee these days? It's weird how far down that program has fallen.

well that's one way to look at it.

Wasn't too many years ago that Tennessee won all their recruiting battles. On field failures and coaching changes has them losing the blue chips and fighting for players like everyone else.

sounds like it's time to start a 2014 thread

What happened with Jay Ellison? http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/143592/jay-ellison

Committed to Southern with all of those big offers? Did he not have grades, real offers, or was he simply too slow to act and not good enough for people to hold his spot? I'm not saying it couldn't be that Southern was his "dream school," but I seriously doubt it.

I doubt he had committable offers to all those schools. To the best of my knowledge he didn't have a committable offer from GT, so who knows about the other schools. A lot of times these offer lists are just who he says he has offers from.

By the time signing comes around his favorite team all along will be magically an SEC team.
Way too early too believe anything these kids say.

edit: meant to reply about the Louisiana kid that says we are his favorite and "the team to beat" for next year

since the college coaches cannot mention a name that has not signed an LOI it is ALWAYS a list of who the player says, the school cannot comment even if it is not true

Just spotted Myles Autry at Brittain dining hall with Anthony and a bunch of other football players, looked like they were having a good time. Definitely a guy we'd love to have

Any chance we pick up Autry? Seems like he has offers out the wazzo and has been to Georgia twice.

Would it not be a good idea for fans to retweet when a player gets an offer to show our support of the offer and support of the player.
