Official 2014 Recruiting Thread

the hive has great recruiting information but I really don't see how it sustainable. What is paying for all the effort Eric puts into it? Maybe he's hoping to get enough people that he can fund his efforts through donations? Or maybe he has a day job and just runs the hive in his spare time.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

I do have a job and do this in my spare time (mostly at work :lol:)

The funding is provided from my business partner that helps run the site.

Why not include advertisements on the site? I don't think anyone would care and you get enough page clicks to turn that profitable.

Would be one of the best finished ever.

Add to that Autry and Whitehead. Would be fantastic.

The GT staff has done a really good job of holding onto current commits AND working to finish strongly with top uncommited targets.

Rounding out this class with 3 of those 4 would be great. I would still be seeing red with Johnson, but it would move from maroon to red-orange. Unless it becomes repeatable again next season, I'm not a fan of his recruiting.

That's good for us, right, because we had no shot at Lorenzo Carter. Who was that directed at?
 
The ouch was for Autry. He said publicly last week him and Lorenzo were a package deal. Carter says today they are not. Cater is the more highly sought after prospect. General consensus is that Autry was attaching himself to Carter hoping FSU or OSU or any other big school not named GT would offer him in order to get Carter.

Until Carter tweeted that today.

Johnson alluded to Miles Taylor at the signing day press conference. He said "The other guy wanted to visit another school, and we didn't care, so that worked out well." So maybe Miles was right that our coaching staff had lost interest and was trying to drop him. Maybe we are the bad guys--Johnson did sound like a jerk saying that.

Is withdrawing interest but not the offer as unethical as withdrawing an offer? Maybe it is ethical so long as we stick to the offer.
