"Load management." Translation: We need to lose one game.
How is that questionable? Don't they know if they're going to manage his load or not?
I'd think so, but I don't know much about managing loads.
About damn time they do this. Need to lock in that 5th spot.
This. I would have listed him on the injury report 5 or 6 games ago with a "severely broken eyelash" or something.
It ended up being a moot point as the Mavs won earlier. I kinda wish the Mavs had lost, as now there's a chance they finish with a better record than Memphis. I guess the upside is that if they finish 7th worst instead of 6th, they're just that much less likely to fall into the top 4 in the lottery.
Playoffs just got real interesting. Durant leaves early in the 2nd half of a tight Game 5 with a calf injury. Warriors somehow win after Green fouls out too. But if Durant is out the Rockets might be favored to win the series even down 2 games.
Curry/Thompson/Green are gonna have to play 46 minutes a night w/o Durant. They had no depth after the Cousins injury and are bare bones without Durant.
Do the Hawks finally get their Superstar tonight? 1/10 chance of a significant change in the trajectory of their franchise....assuming Zion lives up to the hype.
Likewise have to pull against the Mavericks from winning one of the 4 lottery slots.
LOL if you think this had anything to do with the Hawks. This öööö has always been rigged. Only sport where the team with the worst record doesn't get the first pick; instead they put it in the hands of the league so that a 2% Lakers chance ends up in the lottery.
Lakers wanted someone to go with LeBron and they get their chance now. Knicks (another big market team) also makes the cut to get into the lottery at 4. Hmmm...who would have thought it?
Lol. They can't sign a free agent superstar and they can't tank their way into drafting one. They are literally hopeless. Then again, so are most other teams, which is why the NBA sucks.
100000%. öööö is so bogus. And poor Zion is gonna end up on a worthless team with no future like AD did five years ago.
So the NBA rigged it so that the Lakers and Knicks would get into the top 4 (leading every sports fan with a conspiratorial bone in their body to claim it is rigged) but also rigged it so that neither would end up in position to draft the consensus top two players in the draft? And the two teams the NBA decided to reward the most with all this rigging are teams from Memphis and New Orleans that didn't even exist 20 years ago? Makes sense.
Knicks finished with the worst record in the league, so it's not exactly shocking that they made the top 4. Sportsbooks helped part idiots from their money, though, as many had odds around +250 for the Knicks to get the #1 pick, even though the math literally shows anything worse than +614 was bad value. Combination of people who suck at math and people who love the idea of shadowy conspiracies, I guess.
Of course, the Knicks didn't get the #1 pick and people are still claiming it's rigged lol.
The whole behind close doors nonsense makes it ultra-shady. I want to see lotto balls bouncing!!
Yeah, it must be because I suck at math. It can't have anything to do with past admissions that they used to freeze the envelope of the team picked to be #1 when the process involved selecting envelopes from a tumbler. Or how they used to put small amounts of helium in some of the ping pong balls so that they rose to the top better but put a heavier gas into the others so they didn't rise as easily.
But hey, that was the past. I'm sure they wouldn't do anything like that behind closed doors anymore.
Salty over losing money betting on the Knicks?
Nope. I just think this is one of the dumbest ideas in the history of sports.
If you finish last, you get the first pick in the draft. Tanking happens in every sport but the team pays because fans quit coming to the games in large numbers and revenue decreases. They went in search of a problem for the solution they had.
