I also hate being successful. This sucks.
Good thing you're a Tech fan.
Let me give you a hint while you feel this way:
All jokes aside, it's what others have said. There is very little local history and the franchise and quite frankly, the bulk of the national sporting media hasn't even batted an eye at the win.
Sadly,that's very true
Warranted a brief recognition on the Fox NFL pre-game show yesterday. This was due to Arthur Blank being a NFL franchise owner.
act like you've been there before Atlanta
Thank you for your service, Greg Garza.
changed playoff structure for next season
I know it’ll never happen but US Soccer needs relegation. It adds a layer of interest for teams at the bottom that makes the league interesting. It also promotes a tier system which will allow some top teams to breakaway. Sports in the US are successful largely due to some level of parity that doesn’t exist in most soccer leagues. Atlanta is setup to build a team which could dominate MLS. However the current system is built on promoting parity. This sucks. We have the resources to be the MLS Yankees or Dodgers but the leagues constraints will prevent us from taking advantage of it too much.
PS: Bigcry and soccer is gay
I think one problem with that is the number of major sports in the US. With most or all of the NFL, CFB, MLB, NBA, NHL, and MLS in most major markets, no one is going to care much about a team that isn't contending. It's not like in Europe where the local soccer team is the be-all end-all and a middling EPL team with virtually no chance of winning the league can still draw a lot of fan interest. Our leagues need parity to survive.
Also the whole money thing, of course.
I think relegation might come once there are 40+ teams.
There are Definitely that many markets
Who is going to be our next manager? I'd prefer that Mourinho go to LAG
Atlanta United today announced that their leg vs Herediano in the Concacaf Champions League first round will be held at KSU 5/3rd stadium. WTF!?!
We went from 50k+ stadium to 10k max. What a dumb fn decision. Apparently there is monster truck events scheduled for MBS.
What a joke. The first intl competition this team is in and they do this.
I don't see pro/rel coming under the single-owner entity structure, especially given franchise fees are North of $150M.
It is a ööööing joke. 8PM on a Thursday in ööööing Kennessaw; getting up there will be awesome!
