Paul Johnson is not a losing coach. He was in a few seasons, but he hasn't under achieved but in one season (injury riddled 2015) otherwise we have been better or about how we should of been in all his seasons.

At this point - Tech sports can only hope to be "mediocre". Tech is the bottle of the barrel.

If you are gonna be a bitch like Gus, being told to "kill yourself" is a standard ST response. I merely made it topical.

Apparently marriage has made Blazer even dumber than he was before.

I told myself years ago that I wouldn't let another blazer font fool me. It's about that time again for him to resurface. Could this be his best troll yet?

My two favorite teams are TECH and whoever's playing Georgia.
Rice University Owls wise up and hire Tennessee Tech's Matt Bragga to replace Head Coach Wayne Graham. Graham had 1100 wins and won the 2003 CWS, but several lean years lately. Rice's A.D. faster than ours.

    http://news.rice.edu/2018/06/15/matt-bragga-named-rice-baseball-coach/?utm_source=Homepage&utm_medium=Bragga&utm_campaign=Homepage links

Meanwhile, the 63-year-old Danny Hall is retained to rest on his laurels, having gone to the CWS in 1994, 2002 and 2006. Look for another ~13-17 record, and a ~9th place finish in the ACC for the 8th year in a row for GT under Hall.

2011. This is when the slide began seven years ago. GT baseball has not had a winning record in ACC play ever since.

    2012...12-18 ACC...38-26 overall...lost Gainesville Regional to Florida
    2013...15-15 ACC...37-27 overall...lost Nashville Regional to Vanderbilt(defeated Vandy once with Heddinger shut-out)
2014...14-16 ACC...37-27 overall...lost Oxford Regional to Washington(never got to play Ole Miss before elimination)
2015...13-17 ACC...32-23 overall...no regional(lost last five games of the year)
    2016...13-16 ACC...38-25 overall...lost Gainesville Regional to Florida
    2017...11-19 ACC...27-28 overall...no regional(first overall losing record since 1981)
    2018...14-16 ACC...31-27 overall...no regional

Average ACC record in last seven years: 13-17

Average ACC tournament seed in last seven years: 9

Note: Tech has lost 8 of last 9 ACC tournament games dating back to 2014, with the only win versus last place BC, a play-in game in 2016. Also, the Yellow Jackets have lost 8 of last 9 to uga, while being swept by the dawgs the last two years.

Does Todd Stansbury expect us to renew our season tickets, show up to the Rusty C, and painfully watch this happen again for the 8th year in a row? I don't think so.

I don't think Stansbury is really worried about baseball attendance unfortunately

You're probably right...I was at Senior Day last May versus Duke for the last game of the year. He was on the field all smiles standing next to Hall for the pregame festivities honoring the seniors, seemingly not phased or bothered by the empty stadium with more duke blue than Tech gold in the stands.

He's the AD and the face of our athletic program. How do you really expect him to act in public? It would have been a public relations coup to go ahead and draw & quarter Hall right there at the pitching mound.

    Here and there
I went to Rice for grad school and follow the team and the situation there is very similar to the situation here. Coach who had/has been there forever and the last few season have seen serious slippage.

The fan base is fractured because Graham did not go quietly and there was a big push for Lance Berkman to take his place, which Graham did not want. Bragga was a great hire and will hopefully unite the (small) fan base. I'm happy he ended up on one of the teams I support.

If he had done that, I'd buy season tickets for life.

Good post! Todd Stansbury is a wimp. He'll never fire Danny Hall. Stansbury is the Mister Rogers of Athletic Directors...
