agree it seems like many in the braves FO view Wright as having the highest ceiling of them all.

I'd rather see Newk go than Touk.

Too bad they don't do their winning in the post-season.

This is post-season, per how words and prefixes work. I think you mean specifically the playoff section of the post-season.

No difference to him, same degree of winning pre-, in, or post-season.

Pay Bryce Harper, pay a few bullpen arms, and package some prospects for a #1/2 starter.

Being GM is easy AF. The Barves will screw it up though.

I could sign up for that plan.

I'm worried that were going to spend way too much money/prospect capital on a catcher. Everybody loves JTR but I'd much rather invest in other positions and piece Catcher together.

If we overpay, it needs to be for an elite bat regardless of position. JTR is a great hitting catcher, but not an elite overall bat.

The next interesting decision is what to do at 3B. Riley is close and Camargo has been solid his whole career. Do you kick Camargo over to SS and do something with Dansby? Do you trade Riley or Camargo as part of your package for an elite bat/arm?

Also, if we are really going for it, do we trade Ender or make him our pinch runner/defensive outfield sub? Could kick Acuna over to CF and load up with bats at corner OF positions. Acuna can play center defensively now and could move to a corner when Pache is ready assuming he isn’t trade bait.

Also, you have so many good prospects that you’re getting to the point where you can’t protect them all. The Braves will be forced to make a trade sometime packaging prospects due to 40 man roster spots.

You can find a serviceable defensive catcher for cheap. Don't blow your wad on that position.

I agree with you guys on the catcher advice. Better to have an expensive great hitting fielder and a cheap servicable hitting catcher than a cheap OK hitting fielder and an expensive decent hitting catcher.

If we were already stacked everywhere then sure, upgrade catcher. But there are much bigger needs in the OF that can be easier filled.

Re. Camargo, I am not ready to give up on Dansby just yet and I want Camargo at 3B. He is elite level defensively at 3B but he would be a below average SS. That said, I also wouldn't mind packaging him in a deal if it returned a decent infielder. Not sure he's really as good as 2018 year so we'd be selling high.

Re. Outfield, I'd prefer we leave Acuna in a corner but doesn't matter LF or RF. Again, Ender is elite level CF and that has a lot of worth. He just shouldn't be hitting near the top of the order. CF will take more of a toll on Acuna and might lead to injury. Go get a monster bat to play either LF or RF and let RAJ play the other.

Top 25 in MLB in OPS+ last year, within shouting distance or ahead of guys like Altuve, Arenado, Story, Votto, Harper, Baez...sounds pretty elite to me.

lmao of course Realmuto is elite. If the Marlins weren't retarded he'd be a Brave already but apparently they don't want to trade within the division. There are so few good hitting catchers in the majors right now having one on your team is a huge leg up.

Solid signings today. McCann is a feel good move for a known leader and a potential decent fit in a righty/lefty platoon w/ Flowers. If he doesn't have it anymore, Flowers can handle primary duties for a time. Low risk move.

Donaldson move is very good imo, kills two birds w/ one stone. Gives us a legit cleanup hitter while at the same time strengthening the bench (Camargo) while not having us give up prospects or commit long-term to a player in his thirty's.

And we still have remaining budget to play with for corner OF and a reliever or two.
