Ok, guys. It's the day before the game, so we are free to predict as we please. I've got it shaking out like this.

The REAL Tech: 13
State Institute(sic) and University: 10

Score is 7-3 GT at half.

GT - 24
VT - 13

GT's still leans on the big play, but we start to get more of the smaller "keep the chains moving" runs. Oh, and VT hits some short passes, then GT ADJUSTS. Their offense stops moving and starts turning the ball over.

28-10 good guys. Defense creates a turnover or two, offense improves upon last week. The importance of this game can't be overstated, and I think Paul Johnson won't let the team forget that. Win this and we are probably considered the favorites to win the division.

We hang 31 on the Turkeys with ease.
We mercifully allow them to score 10.

Vespidae 24 -- 3 TD, 1 FG
Tetraoninae 16 -- 1 TD, 3 FG

Dwyer for 90+
Nesbitt 7-10 passing
Blair 1/1 FG; 3/3 PAT

24-13 GT

VPI moves the ball enough to get two FGs and scores a garbage TD with 2 mins left in the second half.

my prediction will change if bay bay doesn't play... but we win 24-13... six of their points coming off turnovers... if bay bay isn't there much much closer possibly a loss for us. Baybay's blocking is a game changer and he seems to always be so wide open on passes and catches everything.

You are "free" to predict whenever you want on this board...

My call - 24-21, Jackets score late to win

Jackets 20
Hokies 17

I see it playing out something like this:
VT gets on the board early with a TD, and leads most of the half 7-0. Scott Blair kicks a late 1st half FG to make it 7-3 at the break.

Following half time adjustments (how nice is it to say that with some confidence of it actually happening) GT takes the second half kickoff and marches easily for a TD for the lead, 10-7. We trade TDs late 3rd/early 4th quarter, and then VT drives near the end of the game for a tying FG.

2 minute drill is effective, but not overwhelmin and Blair comes on with seconds remaining to hit the GW field goal in the 35-40 yard range. Finishes the day 2/2 on FG attempts - a huge confidence boost to the young man, and signs of things to come.

Not a lot of total offense for either team. Relatively clean game turnover-wise, though, and a constant battle for field position. GT scores just enough to win, and JD gets his 3rd 100 yard effort of the year.

GO JACKETS!!!!

Well, I'll stick with my 'StinGTalk Prediction Contest' pick:

GT 1
VT 0
:smirk:

GT= 30 - 4 TD's 1 FG (1 missed FG & XP)
VT= 28 - 4 TD's (2 td's late in the 4th)
w/ the score closer than the game actually was.
