OK, Ga Tech beats Maryland & here\'s why
AJ Suggs.....
Ya'll can cheer him, curse him or turn your nose up at him. GT's whole season comes down to AJ & how AJ goes, so goes Tech. Suggs has got to learn to finish it! I think he has. The Yellow Jackets are very close to being 6-0.
O not good, O good, D not good, D good, D on field too much, O on field not enough. The 2 losses STILL came down to the last minute drives. Suggs had a beauty of a 2 minute drive going to win the game in both the Clemson game & the WF game. He did terrific down the field in both cases, but when we got close he sputtered(or choked) & the team sputtered(or choked). He has got to learn to get it in the end zone, or at least tie.
Hamilton choked several of his early games, but learned to finish it. Godsey had a very nice last minute drive going to W his 2nd game, vs FSU, but got close & choked(with refs no call on interference). He learned to finish it & not depend on refs(& benefitted from 'the catch'). Suggs is now in the same boat. If he learned, we'll have a great season. If he hasn't learned, we'll lose at least 3 more. I believe he has the character to win the rest of our games. The Maryland game defines this season. We come back from bitter to sweet or it stays bitter the rest of the yr. I really feel AJ had his 'wake-up' call & makes it sweet the rest of the yr.
The coaches believe in AJ & are going with him-win,lose or draw. The game comes down to the QB, almost every time & they usually lose early, but the good ones learn how to win from these experiences. The coaches believe Suggs can do it & get it done.
We all better get behind AJ & give him all the boost we can because he's our QB & we need him to play the last minute the way he played the 2 minutes before that.
