leave this game alone. It doesn't matter if you think you can make a case for Chan as the HC, he's done. I saw this coming when the guy couldn't conduct an interview yesterday. He knew his job was on the line and he simply didn't know what to do. He should have been let go two years ago in retrospect but Braine didn't want to do the dirty work and I understand why not.

It doesn't matter if you love him or hate him, he's gone.

Now go hire Norm Chow and win the ACC next year!

Who do you want? We're getting a new HC so you might as well play along.

I can't argue that. I think we all thought it should be done 2 years ago, but knew it would happen after the Virginia/Maryland crapper.

It is finished!

Norm Chow in the ATL, can you say NC??? Friedge who can recruit, a minority in the mecca for minorities? I assume ATL and LA can produce some telent and that's what we need...along with a few other things.

I love for Norm Chow to come to Tech but why the heck would he leave the NFL to come back to college? He's done a good job with the Titans and he has Vince Young. Yes we have a ton of talent, but what makes you think he's even interested in coming back to college?

The chance to be a Head Coach for the first time could sway him to return.

He wants to be a head coach and he has never been given the chance. He would make 4* what he make snow and would get to live in ATL rather than Nashville.

Chow may be a good choice, but I'm not convinced he's right for GT. Besides, he ain't gonna come here, no way.

Paul Johnson. Won multiple NCs with Georgia boys he recruited, has Navy competitive with an avg SAT of 1250. There is no better fit.

Ok, here's a list of names:

Bud Foster - If we hire him he'll stop tearing us a new one

Joker Phillips - Knows how to run an offense

Bo Pellini - Probably will end up somewhere else; but he and DRAD could be buds, so who knows

Jimbo Fisher - see Pellini above

Bobby Petrino - instead of firing Gailey we simple trade him to the Falcons "Hello Arthur Blank, you got this college type coach and I got this NFL type coach. What do you say we trade?" :laugher: This way we don't have to eat his contract.

After three years of wanting to move beyond mediocrity, it seems that many of you of are finally catching on! way to go!

Chow is 62 years old

So you're saying that you want a coach that will start with an age related recruiting albatross over his neck?

did Pellini and DRAD ever work together? I thought Bo came to LSU after Drad took the AD job at GT. I doubt they have ever had a conversation if so.

HAHA, trade Chan for Petrino. Hell, the Falcons fans might be down with that. I'm afraid we can't cover an NFL coach's salary though.

I think most of the people on my list are long shots. I would be surprised if the name of the next head coach at GT has been mentioned on this board yet either. It's fun to speculate though.

I did hear yesterday that the crowd at UNC is disgruntled with Butch Davis because he asked for 'Carolina Blue' to be de-emphasized as a team color and suggested they go to a darker shade of blue. Apparently some of the old guard want his head for that. It is probably too early to add Butch Davis to the list; but stranger things have happened.

If butch left it would be for ARK. I think he has an out cluase there.

I'm guessing the name we hire has been mentioned as DRAD has been working on this awhile and he has to hire a name recognizable to many to sell tickets next year. Hiring an unknown could be bad for next year.

So, if Davis were to come here he'd probably wanna ditch the gold and go with navy. That'd get some calling for his head.

It's be fine with me. Joe pa is 80, Spurrier is about the same age. 62 would make for a nice 6-8 year run with one of the best offenses in the country. granted, I'd prefer he be our OC but that's not a possibility.
