Can't help but think that OSU didn't belong here. Really thinks it time, no beyond time.

Take a look at the score of all BCS games this year and you tell me

I think the only decent game was the Orange Bowl but I may be wrong.

No, the voting world just needs to start realizing that the Big 10 is nothing special, constantly overrated, and eternally disappointing in bowl season.

Heck, lets look at a couple of Big 10 legends, Schembechler 5 and 12 in bowl games, Hayes at 5 and 6. JoePa and because of him PSU is pretty much the only Big Televen school with a winning bowl record!

Not saying the ACC is any better these days...

EDIT: Link to bowl winning percentage for those interested, http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/bowls/team_records_best_winpct.php

Though, in regards to playoffs, they have been needed for years. Deciding on a champion with votes or a championship game with votes is the worst idea ever.

The conferences are already existent, all they have to do is let the conference champions go to playoffs and battle it out. But the bowl system is already built in, so it's never gonna happen, we will just have to be happy with this.

Yep, ND has by far the worst bowl percentage of any school. Not only have they not won a bowl game in the past 10 years, they have lost nearly all of them by large margins.

Going back to the Michigan and ND teams after the turn of the century, the college football press has had a significant bias towards the midwest. As a result, teams from the midwest have consistently been overrated. ND has always lost bowl games and the Hayes-Schembechler rivalry was great, except that USC would always whoop the winner in the Rose Bowl.

As for the ACC, well, the conference had a down year while the bowl tie-ins remained the same. Maybe it's poor coaching, but the complete inability to complete games about sums up the ACC this year.

I wouldn't want to see existing bowls become playoff tiers, as all that would mean is that fewer teams would get to go bowling. Plus, I kinda like the chaos of the system as it exists. The controversy is part of the fun.

I agree on the chaos adding to the fun.

The 11 conference winners and the best record of the Independents should be placed in a 12 team playoff.

I'd rather see some changes to the conferences first such that they all have 12 teams and conference championship games. I'd also like to see the independent teams placed in conferences.

We need a NCAA-sanctioned, 8 or 16 team playoff. The season could be scaled back to 11 games if need be.

Every other NCAA division does this (DI-AA, DII, DIII). The only reason this does not exist today is due to the powers-that-be in college football (college presidents and their ADs at the large, top-tier schools) really like the cushy, easy payouts provided by the system they've rigged up for themselves.

If you've ever read articles on the power hungry Big 11 commissioner you know why they are overrated and overhyped by the media.

I just hope if we ever get good enough to be in the championship game we have a Big 11 team to roll over too.

Nail meet head.

Its all about the greenbacks. $$$

As long as the current system makes tons of $$$, it will never change.

If someone could devise a playoff system in which every party remained equally as compensated as they are now, it may happen.

ps. What's needed more right now is shorter games... can I get an amen?
