Were all the horrible calls against us just as wrong as we booed about them being? Was hard to tell whilst turned sideways and gasping for air in the upper east.

There weren't that many horrible calls. Only a couple bad ones (safety and touchdown). Other than that they did ok.

The bogus pass interference call was just that - bogus. Their receiver pushed Burnett out of the way, and BUrnett got flagged. What a crock of crap.

I don't know what happned on the flagrant leg-whip because ABC was too busy interviewing UGA, not showing the f'ing football game.

Yeah, what was the deal with the ejection? That threw my entire section for a loop. Even the Georgia fans that weren't laughing were asking what the hell it was for.

Same thing here. I am quite tired of hearing stupid stuff when the game is going on.

Id love to know about the leg whip situation

we lost blame GT, the ref thing is old, we lost by two touchdowns, this sounds pathetic

the 2 calls that were bad did screw us over though. that bull**** pass interference ended up in a uga touchdown out of what wouldve been a field goal. that shouldve been safety. i know some of yall say dont blame the refs we didnt play hard enough but any one of those right calls couldve changed the momentum of the game. that touchdown (because of the pass interference call) with 1 minute remaining gave uga the lead and the momentum and that changed the game. never once did tech regain the momentum after that. so i will agree we had our chances but the refs (who were sec refs) screwed us over

I believe that if you get a flagrant clipping penalty, you are automatically ejected from the game, just as you would be if you got flagged for throwing a punch or spitting at somebody.

wasnt directing at you intentionally, more so a blanket statement because i see 50 posts like this coming

its always "something" against UGA

I'm sure some people would put more worth in it than there should be, yeah. The calls were big, but we had our opportunities to overcome it the right way - with skill on the field - and we didn't do it.

Let's not point out that the two bad calls would have been a 14 point swing - i.e. a tie game. We had our other chances, but the refs did everything they could to deflate the players - and it worked. I don't blame the refs completely for the loss, but to throw all blame out the window is ludicrous.

it always "something' against UGA isnt it?
some said you make your own luck once

Y'all didn't make your own lucj in 97. It was stolen from you by a ref. I don't blame the players when games are stolen. If you make your own luck like in 97 and lose because of a call like that, you should have been pissed at the ref.

we still could have stopped them... while i agree that ref's can change things, ultimately you still have to line up and win it or lose it. in 97, we still could have prevented them from scoring

The game was another shining example of how no matter how hard you play, you can't beat the Refs and God.

Watched on TIVO this morning...Saw that we actually had another pass interference that wasn't called! Bad calls happen! WE lost the game!

While the refs weren't/aren't responsible for the players in red & black having overall more talent than the players in old gold & white, and therefore had no direct influence on the outcome of the game --the pass interference call was certainly significant.

It was a terrible call --I have no idea what the official thought he saw. It was third down IIRC --so basically UGA was awarded four points it shouldn't have had. Bottom line though was that the Tech defense had no answers for stopping TBrown and TBennett is not an accomplished enough athlete to be playing Division 1 college football.
