On the final play, RB coulda walked in for a TD...

I understand why he didn't. Obviously with no timeouts, it's best to complete a pass in the end zone than to risk a run that might run the clock way down or even out. It's just an observation I had.

As it was, the ball was floated in there not perfectly, but imminently catch-able. It's a play that Calvin makes 99 times out of 100. But that's the breaks. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.

The better team lost last night and that's hard to take. We really took it to them in the 2nd half. NC State's offense had 1 play in the 2nd half and that was it for them. But it was enough to beat us, given our special teams and our breakdown at the end.

This loss hurts way worse than 51-7 or 51-7 part deux. It kills me. But I don't blame it on anyone. I'm not pointing fingers. It just wasn't our night.

Just curious as to what makes you think they were a better team?

    Rushing Yds NCS-56, GT-164

The best point you made is that it is nobody's fault(comment discluding Travis Bell). You can't blame your best player for dropping the ball, because he was the reason you were in the game. Reggie led one hell of a 2 minute offense to put us in position to win. PJ played fine against a tough D-fense. The D played great except on a short slant and a flea flicker. The coaches got us to the door of victory. The only person who didn't do his job last night was the kicker. Two shots wide right from point blank range...I could have shot footballs out of my arse through the uprights from that damned close. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pat.gif

That's funny. It was 2 bad angles, unfortunately. But he shoulda made those FG's. Again, it just wasn't meant to be.
