On To Louisville

Where is the thread where we talk about not winning by enough?
We have lots of room improvement from today's game. Here's the things we sucked at and need to be better:
1. Offensive line wasn't opening holes in the running game early. Figured it out later, but against VMI for a quarter and last week against Cuse that's just not acceptable. Figure it out.
2. Our DEs need to generate a better pass rush. We kind of bullied them with mass from the DTs to generate pressure, but that weight advantage won't be there in any of the other games. We've got to find a way to generate some clean looks from our LBs and the DEs have to be a bigger factor in both the run and pass games. Figure it out.
3. DBs in pass coverage seem to just trail behind receivers and never get their heads around to locate the ball. Susceptible to PI calls, never make interceptions doing that. Are we really always that easily beat? Disrupt routes, make some picks by undercutting routes, go make a play. Figure it out.
4. Our backups couldn't keep VMI off the board. Build some depth. Figure it out.

The OL has not looked good since the FSU game

Glad we worked the passing game today. Maybe FSU fooled us into thinking we could work the running game 24/7, but Syracuse brought the heat early to try and get us behind the sticks then dropping on obvious passing downs. After the first drive, we sprinkled in a lot more first and second down passing. We hit short medium and deep routes and really made VMI back off, which opened the run game.

I don’t think Louisville is 50 a game good, but Brohm is a great OC, and they will be tough to stop. Like Cuse, I think we will have the weather the storm on D, and part of that is scoring on offense early and often. I see this being a shootout, but maybe our two game play advantage and being a little more battle tested can be the difference

We got this. We broke FSU. Don’t look at their results in a vacuum. They looked decent against us. They had stuff to play for. We ended that.

No one had game film on F$U with DJ and this team. The more film teams have had, the worse their losses get. DJ is ineffective. If Norvell has any self preservation awareness, he benches him and goes with the next QB. Honestly they could go winless in the ACC.
