On To Syracuse!

Syracuse game was similar to ours but closer. Syracuse was up 17-16 in 3rd and broke it open with 3 TD’s. Ohio had success on the ground with over 250 yards rushing so we should control the ball and let Haynes King pick his spots to burn them. Ohio also passed for 180 yards. If we don’t shoot ourselves in the foot we should have a good day offensively. The Syracuse QB had a good day throwing for 350 yards and 4 TD’s so if we don’t put pressure on him they will put points on the board. I’m hoping we look like the team that was focused on a mission that played FSU and take care of business. If that occurs I think we take control of the game by the 4th quarter and win a 35-21 type game. If we slop around like last night … well, I don’t want to think about it.

Last trip up there was clown shoes during Covid. I remember Syracuse did some shenanigans to push the game time, after we had already warmed up. Little did they know, clown would have found a new and creative way to lose, give all credit to Syracuse for being such a tough top level team, while lauding our players for improvements that we refuse to see.

Syracuse won't be so lucky this time. Key and staff don't play that bullshit.

My quick takeaways:
1. Ohio was an undersized, outmatched opponent but played well enough to keep the game close for much of the game.
2. Ohio gashed Syracuse on the ground a lot. Syracuse D-line is very suspect. I expect Tech will run it a lot depending on the health of RB's.
3. Syracuse has a pretty good QB and talented receivers. Most of their yardage came through the air. Ohio secondary was pitiful.
4. Tech should have a pretty good advantage on the line on both sides of the ball.
5. Syracuse had a pretty good crowd and it was loud. I expect a bigger and louder crowd as Tech comes to town.

Some more notes:
Ohio covered the spread. (+17)
Ohio rushed for 255yds and had 436 total yards. Tech should be able to score.
Syracuse threw for 354yds. Tech secondary will be tested.
If Tech is healthy, I like our chances.

More importantly than the game, what's the good pre-game spot near their ööööty indoor stadium pretending to be a college football venue?

The last season that Tech started 2-0 was eight years ago, and that season (2016) they got to 3-0 before losing. Ten years ago, they opened the season 5-0 and went on to win the Orange Bowl.
You just jinxed it

McCord is legit. Still won’t ever understand Ryan day not guaranteeing him a job in the off season. Big game for our secondary but I also like us to keep up with them score wise. Tech by 7-8

Ryan Day constantly outsmarts himself. But they did have quite the embarrassment of riches at QB and McCord choked hard against Michigan. Folded like a cheap tent.
