One Big Hope For Saturday

I was riding the radio waves Saturday night but I did watch the replay later in the morning and she was ten tones of too much.

ESPN = Third. World.

She’s a softball announcer that has no business announcing football. I spent 10 mins pairing the GT app live audio to the TV steam and enjoyed myself greatly after that.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for women getting a chance to do a job previously done exclusively by men. I just don’t think she is the right choice. Now in the same vein I think a man should be able to be a dental hygienist.

No one should be able to announce a sporting event on TV that did not play that sport at the same competitive level.

So Al Michaels should be barred from sportscasting? No more thrilling NFL calls by Gus Johnson? Joe Buck shouldn't have even been allowed to get his foot in the door?

I guess the good news is we'd still have Phil Simms to listen to.

I always enjoy hearing Wes Durham call a game. I liked Al Ciraldo too. Some people think Keith Jackson was the best college football announcer of all time; but I don't think he ever played football.

Jones and RGlll - should be good

Baylor @ Texas
12:00 PM
ESPN
Mark Jones, Robert Griffin III, Quint Kessenich

As long as they play the way they did Saturday night, I could put up with anybody's voice. Roddy would be a nice change though.

One big hope for Saturday is that we don’t have these same ESPN2 announcers for the game. The woman stretches out her vowels in her raspy voice. The man has a nice voice, but everything he says is inane.
I heard that Mute is a beautiful thing. After watching football for over 50 yrs, the last thing I need are talking heads spoiling the game experience with their nonsense.

She doesn’t sound near as bad via closed captioning. I’m finding that I do that more and more nowadays - that way I can ignore the obvious observations from bad color guys and not have to hear annoying play-by-play people.
