about sports is turnarounds...

As when a team is improving and building new skill, confidence, and capacity. Fans may not see the changes coming, but when it happens, the team clearly is greater than the sum of its parts. [doesn't this happen in chemistry when robust systems absorb perturbations?]

I'm not tlaking about luck, flukes, or opponent's mistakes - I'm referring to a
team that finds its identity and groove.

Last night we witnessed a turnaround of seasonal proportions, and perhaps a turnaround of programmatic proportions. As in: we will remember where we were when Tech won this game, we will point to it as the start of a new era, and we will always smile when we remember this one.

We figured out a defensive formula that worked for Miami. Blitzing the daylights out of the opponent won't completely work against UGA's offensive style / QB.

I like your idealism. But this turnaround isn't complete until our defense can handle two or more different offensive styles and quarterbacks that execute very above average like Miami and UGA.

I think considering this a sort of epic turnaround is premature. Keep your fingers crossed that we can figure out how to stop a different offense and keep your fingers crossed even more that we can put more points on the board than we have been this season.

But in general, last night was awesome and you're definitely on to something, and this win is going to be beyond just key in the near future.

A bunch of us stormed into Boddy Dodd, but the majority of students who wiggled in weren't brave enough to jump on the field in our vain attempt to tear the goal posts down before the police showed up. When we all got into the bleachers, a bunch of the students hesitated to go on the field and do the fanly duty. Oh well.

I'll tell you what though, those mothers are going down faster than Monica Lewinsky when we beat UGA.
