IMO we are going to be ok. We were playing a faster defense than the previous 2. I hate to freaking lose, BUT I do think we are better today than we were 2 weeks ago.

Our OL sux right now but I have ultimate confidence in Sewak and the job he will do.

Still PROUD to be a Yellow Jacket

I hate that we lost but I sure would not want to be Miss St right now. We are going to kill them.

This GT team does NOT take losing well.

AMEN brother....did you see the pissed off look from PJ afterwards> Not happy at all, but what made me happier was seeing Josh N afterwards and he was spitting blood he was so pissed.

Things looking good for the future.

Do not want to bring up past, but imo in previous years this game is not even close.

Mississippi State is dead already. They might want to start on the tape for LSU to avoid getting shutout there. I smell vengeance and murder.

RM-2,

Seems like one of those "shoulda-coulda-woulda" games to me today.

We attempted suicide and succeeded with those to 15 yarders against us. That last helmet to helmet thing looked like a cheap call to me but that's gonna happen from time to time.

Our O-Line needs some help no doubt, but overall I'm seeing a better team fielded than earlier and I also think we're only gonna get better.

Kudos to this team today, yes, even with a loss, because I seriously believe they'll grow better because of it.

I hate that we lost, but we were all expecting it at the beginning of the year. IMO, we are doing better than we expected to be. One close win; one close loss. The season isn't over, and it's getting better all the time. We have a good stretch coming up to get some kinks worked out.

Nesbitt played his heart out today. He looked so disappointed at the end of the game, I feel bad for him.

Can Sewak do it with these guys or does he have to recruit new guys that can get it done?

Esso,

I think it is going to take both. IMO we are darn terrible at one spot. not going to name names but golly dog we have to have someone better.

Everything I hear about our OL coaches they will get the kinks worked out.

GT VT
1st Downs 19 16
3rd down efficiency 6-10 6-15
Total Yards 387 247
Passing 109 48
Yards per pass 12.1 3.2
Rushing 278 199
Yards per rush 5.6 4.3
Turnovers 3 0

God I can't wait until we can hold on to the ball.

I was calming down a bit from my frustration until reading the stats again.

However, GT just completed back-to-back road games against the Atlantic and Coastal division champions from last season. Both games could have been won --and both games could have been lost.

I'll take the split, take some solace in that our guys were banged up, turned the ball over and had a couple of bad penalties at the end today, and just know that things are looking up for the program. Despite the frustrations of this one loss, I think things are going to be fine on the Flats over the long haul.

I hate giving excuses but this game would have been a whole lot different if Thomas suited up at WR. Without him, we lost a key downfield blocker and a passing threat.

Win out in the ACC and we go to Tampa. That's what matters now and of course beating the hell out of UGA.

If VT wins out they go now no matter what we do.

This one stings but you gotta feel good about the progress we're making and the future.

I agree with your comment, but the problem is that Nesbitt and Dwyer will be so banged up from no blocking by the time that the OL comes together that it won't matter.

Reggie was a good QB at the beginning of each year, but he was so banged up by mid year that everyone hates him to this day.

We have an OL hangover that goes back to the last regime. This may not be a one year fix.

How do you figure? The Chokies have to lose twice. And I think given how the ACC has performed the last two years, it's quite possible to get more of delicious expansion crow:

- The rest of the conference plays like crap against the Chokies
- Chokies slip into Tampa ... and pull an upset there.
- Chokies get blown off the map in their BCS game, further embarrising the ACC en route to being (1-9?) in BCS games. And that one? FSU. Over the same Chokie team.

/facepalm

Does anybody think VT will win out, just curious? I think someone if not 2 will get them.

That's true, but I don't see it happening.

VPI just got by us by virtue of the game being in Blacksburg and by some cheap penalties in their favor. No way they get that lucky over the course of the season. And if Taylor goes down, which, if history is any idicator of the future, will happen again, VPI is screwed.

I think it is within the realm of suck-ability of the ACC to let them not only go to Tampa ... but to a BCS bowl and get drubbed by their opponent. Let's face it. The last few years the ACC has had one giant pillowfight, and in the end sent some just-above-mediocre team to a BCS bowl to represent it.
