I don't know if he is a good band leader but bucky is seemingly the best we've ever had and seems to be loved by all. I think he is a mayor now. We liked him and accepted him and he is a GT man through and through now.

I read an obit a year or so ago about our poetry teacher. Who in the heck knew we had a renowned poetry teacher? He was many students fav prof and well-liked by almost all. He was a UGA grad.

We just hired the next best softball coach in the country from UGA (don't know her degree). Our cheerleading coach has been from UGA.

Being a UGA grad really means squat and some of the most beloved folks at GT over the years have taken classes and even graduated from GT. Heck, I know two GT grads in grad school right now at UGA. they live in Athens and go to Ugag but love the Jackets and one is married to a former GT football player.

Hopefully DRAD can lead. I have never seen a better LEADER at GT in my time following the program. Curry had a lot of great attributes but he was stubborn and not as technically competent as hardly any of those we are considering now.

Here's to Drad to do his job well regardless of where a guy went to college.

Not to take away anything from your post, but I think you're mistaken here. Probably referring the Lux, and he's not a mutt, went to college somewhere in the north east. Great class though, and was a real bitch trying to get into without priority registration (grumble...)

And yes, surprisingly enough if you just want to write poetry GT is amongst the best places in the country to study.

Well, Thomas Lux runs the poetry stuff at Tech. He went to Amherst and you certainly didn't read an obituary (or at least I hope not).

I also think the Bourne chair was creates sometime around 2001? Anyone with a clearer memory.

Other than that, there are a few jackets that go to athens for grad school. Many have been caught wearing red on gamedays and barking like a dog. I won't name names, but they know who they are.

Interesting. I did not know that EE prof and Interim GT Pres Henry Bourne set up a poetry chair. I still remember him wearing a GT belt buckle in his EE motors class. He was a good guy and very committed to the educational system at GT.

Yeah think that's the guy; glad to se he's not dead. Regardless it's a UGA major and one where Ugaggers would be proud of but many GT folks wouldn't know we even had a department.

Thanks for the links.

Maybe it was our drama guy who is a gagger.
