Our QB ball-fakes need a lot of improvement if we want to run the ball.
Also, if we can fake it, then we can roll away with play-fake into play-action or RPO. Can't keep doing the same thing expecting different results.

Good point. I remember thinking a few of them weren't very convincing. Especially when Sims gave a pump fake to the left while staring at the RB to the right.

You taking a crap in those bushes dickhead?

It’s difficult to run conventional play action from the spread. I was glad to see some plays ran from under center to mix in more conventional looks. Example is first play of the game…nothing wrong with the PA fake….receiver beat his man but blocking broke down.

With any semblance of blocking, that play is a huge play/TD. Dammit.

Hard to roll away when the outside blocking is the one getting beat the majority of the time (example - first play of the game)

He did have to roll slightly left because of pressure. Would have been nice just to have a pocket.

A lot of the hand-offs were by Sims moving to the back, holding the ball in a visible position. You can scheme to beat the corner attack. On the 1st play the ball was underthrown, thrown to high, thrown late or the route was run wrong. Probably a combo of those. Smart throw is to the right or out of bounds, not short and to the left. Better not to play street ball.

Sims was hit as he threw…
