New coach coming in. Tenuta probably on his way out. All of our offensive coaches are surely gone. It's been rumored that practices have not been going all that well because the coaches don't seem to care. I'm worried about a complete beat down.

Someone reassure me.

I would think the coaches would take this as an opportunity to show what they can do. Especially since some of them will be looking for a job. Also I still think JT will stay. Just a hunch. Bond has the most to lose if we come out flat.

Pretty sure Bond is gone no matter what happens..not necessarily by choice.

It would be nice to not be 0-2 vs fresno though.

Hard to be reassuring when everything you said it the truth.

Maybe the team will play for pride?
Maybe the team will buy into the future before the game?
Maybe Fresno won't show up to prepared to play?

I'm running out of ideas.....anyone?

What is different between this game and the Stanford game when O'Leary was on the way out?

Hopefully, the team has enough heart not to send TC out on a losing note. Fresno St has a terrible run defense. A great game could help TC draft prospects. A loss could do him a lot of damage.

Huge difference. We had not named a head coach yet as of that game and the kids were playing for MacWhorter hoping he would succeed O'Leary.

Tenuta by all indications is not coming back and these kids aren't playing for any of them.

You are absolutely right. In the past it has been better to go to bowl games because of the extra practice. Since we are changing to a new offense that takes out the need for extra experience for the Offensive players. Since we have heard rumors that the practices are indeed going poorly that reduces the experience for Defensive players. We might have been better off declining the bowl after the coach was let go.

The only good thing I can think off is that, over the past 6 years our players have (1) had plenty of experience getting over a total thumping, and (2) have had plenty of experience getting over a loss to an inferior team. This should be another character builder. Unless Nesbitt breaks his leg in a snowmobile accident and ends his football career. In that case we will need more than character for an offense next year.

BOR don't put any money on the Jackets!

I can tell you from what I have seen from this group of players, generally, is that other than TC, their is no real leadership on this team. The coaches don't provide it, especially Tenuta up in the box, and most of the players don't play with a lot of passion most of the time.

I read a quote from Taylor Bennett that was very telling. He said words to the effect that, "every thing is going away right in front of us". He should have said that "we are a team, we will find a way to deal with this adversity, we have a mission to go to Boise and beat Fresno State for our great Institution, our Seniors and our supporters. It's my job to provide the leadership to get that done. I am the man that is going to get that done".

Instead he sounded like some fifth grader standing out in the rain in front of school crying because his mom is 5 minutes late to pick him up and go to Chuck e Cheese.

If they don't give the ball to TC at least 35 times we have no shot.

Go Jackets!

If Fresno whoops us, maybe it'll serve as a wake-up call to get in line with the new regime.

Let's let Fresno State think that. The team will play loose, hard, and full of pride. The coaches are pro's and will coach accordingly. There is certainly a tremendous amount of distraction and uncertainty right now. It is an audition for both the coaches and players. I expect a wide open game and a big win. What's to lose besides your job and your position?

The rumor that recent bowl practices have been poor is crap. This Saturday's practice was high energy with plenty of intensity. I would say it was better that past years.

Our bowl record coming of a loss to UGAG is a disaster and this isnt like it is sunny florida

You're over thinking it.

1) These "kids" are old enough and mature enough to motivate themselves. They know the game will be on TV and the highlights will be on ESPN. Many with pro aspirations also know scouts will be watching. If they have it in them to allow themselves to get embarrassed due to coaching changes, then maybe the last coach did a better job of motivating than we all thought (doubtful).

2) As long as TC is on the field, he's not going to allow anyone to let go of the rope.

3) These coaches are all auditioning for new jobs and even future jobs. To give up or lay an egg would not reflect well, and will come around. Not to mention they are being paid to do the job.

4) If coaches aren't returning then they don't have to worry about building for next season. They can go for broke to win the game without concern for next year. That's someone else's job.

5) Bottom line, I'm not worried about it. CJT will coach his defense just like always. We're brining 5. Bond has the reins on the offense, maybe for the first time. I'm sure he's happy to try and prove himself either way. If Bond can't get the offense to buy in or play for him for whatever reason, he'll be selling insurance faster than you can say "I just saved 15% on my....

If I were one of the players I'd be considering that this is an opportunity for me to impress the new HC. He's going to be watching and if I want to make sure of my place in the lineup and the playing time I want then that's a great chance for me to show him what I can do.

I'm sure that some of our players will feel exactly this way and go out and give it everything they've got. Others will give it everything they've got because that's just who they are, like TC. He only knows one way to go and that's FULL SPEED. Of course he is not going to be back next year but you get the point.

I thought they might play well for PJ Daniels's last game two years ago, but that didn't happen.

I hope they do play for TC and the rest of the seniors, but I am not optimistic.

That said, as far as practices go, finals are going on right now. Let's wait and see what's going on this weekend and next week, eh?

Maybe it will be like the last time we played and Boise, and we can just run up the middle for 20+ yards every other play.
