a long shot with VT losing one...But, I spoke to a management person with Chikfila today and we have a good shot at the Peach when we beat ugag next Saturday...I would love a shot at the Orange, but the Peach would be alright if not the Orange...I.M.H.O. we will be in Miami in the Orange Bowl many many times in the future....

Peach would certainly be better than Boise or San Francisco. Kind of boring though.

Actually The Peach has been one of the better bowl games the last few years....

In this economy it would be a better option, money wise for us fans..No hotel bill or travel costs...Go down early to Hot Lanta and have a nice new years eve dinner and then watch the game...A good New years eve outing...

I would LOVE to see us in the Orange But, I wouldn't mind a rematch with Lsu in the Peach... This year we would beat them..

and that is the reason that the Peach has a hard time justifying picking us, considering that they are trying to bring people that will come and spend on a hotel room and visiting for a few days before/after. that is the whole point, from the commercial side outside of ticket sales

We would absolutely destroy LSU. It'd be just like the Miami game.

I wonder if Lsu will represent the Sec in the Peach ?

Or would it be Ole Miss or Auburn ? I would think Lsu is most likely in the Peach...And yes, I think we would smash them..

Re: I wonder if Lsu will represent the Sec in the Peach ?

AMEN to that. If we could smash UGA and LSU in the same year I could not be happier. I HATE both of those teams more than any in college football (UGA is obvious, but LSU is because I grew up in New Orleans with those asshole, fair-weather, good-for-nothing LSU fans).

The Peach would absolutely love a Virginia Tech, but considering that hardly anybody else in the ACC travels at all, we would do well just with ticket sales. Unfortunately, LSU still has a lot of talent and I would be really worried after their bowl practices.

I also think the Peach is better than the other top-tier ACC bowl, the Gator. I don't see what the UGA and UF rednecks see in that dump of a stadium/city.

I don't care where it is. I'll be there. if it's on Christmas day and I have to miss waking up early for Santa Claus, so be it.

After watching Houston Nutt go single wing old school on LSU today, I think that our offense would shred LSU like 7 Varsity double chili steaks running through my intestines. I think we're a very scary bowl possibility for any team, because we'll be healthy and have more time to practice.

Wes said it the best ater the Miami game. "with this victory, Tech is pretty much ASSURED a bowl game EAST of the mississippi":laugher:

Koholic, PLEASE tell me you never really ate 7 double chili steaks at one time!? We have all, as GT students, done some daring/foolish/stupid things but 7!?!? If so what in the hell possessed you to do so?

We win Acccg we go to orange correct?
We lose Acccg we go to Peach/Gator?
We win nadlicker game but don't go Acccg we go to Peach/Gator?

GOD forbid we &%*$ to nadlickers we go to Champs/Nashville/Peach maybe?

Please explain simply.

Big John,

The only thing that is sure besides Death and taxs is, that if we win the Acc Champ. game we go to the Orange...Beyond that, it is all up to the politics (Swofford and the bowls) of mortal man, that is where we may get dissed. We really need UVA to beat VT and take care of business in Athens this Sat.. Then we control our destiny.

I am not sure why people are talking about going to the Peach/Chick-fil-a bowl. I assume that the players would like to travel somewhere. Also, according to their website, they do not give much talk to GT. Leeman mentions GT, but there is no paragraph like the other teams? I hope my links work.

Here is a link to the bowl selection process for the ACC:

I would imagine that if we beat Georgia and FSU loses to Florida, we're going to be a lot more attractive for the Gator Bowl.

I hope the CFA marketing dept. doesn't find out that one of their mgmt. types is still calling it the Peach Bowl, or his ass is grass.

I'd be cool with GT going to the CFA, though. I already get ten tickets a year, lower level 35 yd. line ACC side. But I'll happily give them up to my ACC brethren for a trip to the Orange or Gator.

Since it sounds like you work for Chick-fil-A, could you hook me up with some free chicken?:D:eek5:
