Our DT's cost us this game.

During the offseason my two main concerns were 1. Losing Joe Anoai and 2. Losing Kenny Scott along with Laurence Marius.

Our DT's have got to create push so Guyton and Wheeler can hit the QB. If they create the push up the gut, that helps Robo and Oliver and MJ on the ends. Ryan had all day right in the heart of pocket directly behind center. He was never forced out!

I say this because its not like Wheeler/Guyton/Bowen can just run right over center and blow up the QB. Mostly, they attack from the ends.

We have got to have better DT push and better overall DT play.

Pat Clark looked confused and not at all confident last night. I hate Laurence Marius for leaving us. I've heard people say "he couldn't even crack the rotation last year". True but that's a BS opinion.

He was playing ST's as a freshman last year. Just like Donley/Dwyer/MButler are this year. Those guys will all be starters next year. Losing Marius hurt waaaaaay more than anyone will admit.

Joe Anoai was an animal on the field last year. MJ seems to fill that "animal" role nicely, but having a BIG TIME DTackle is a M.U.S.T if we are to be competitive with top flight teams. Other than Richard, I believe we are slightly undersized here.

I have to disagree here, the DT's weren't the problem in my opinion. DT's aren't supposed to be sack machines, they control the line of scrimmage, and for the most part, they held the LOS alright. Now the secondary, I'll agree with you. Our secondary is the worst group that I've seen since 1998.

Flag! Unnecessary roughness.

Yeah, we had issues but the combination of Ryan basically having all day AND a career day would spell certain doom to just about any secondary in division one.

I'll be very interested to see what BC does to the rest of the conference.

I mean what if they beat Clemson by 30, MD by 40 and VT by 50? Right now, no one has held them to less than 37 points except Georgia Tech.

I'm not really disagreeing 100% but I am saying it might be a little early to throw our secondary under the bus.

I saw mistakes by Clark that are no-nos at the high school level and he's supposed to be starting D-1 player. DJay Jones was constantly out of position. Lewis is great, but I saw him cheating the line to take the responsiblity of the blitzing LB which told Matt Ryan ALL he ever needed to know about what defense was coming.

Yeah, I pretty much thought that Philip Wheeler was our best cover corner last night.
