Does anybody thinks that if we would have scored a touchdown instead of the field goal on the 1st drive, the game might've had a different outcome? I do. Just like the LSU game last year

No. On offense, we looked slower than usual. We couldn't block. I don't think that momentum could have saved us from those maladies.

Our defense was not prepared to face an offense as talented as Miami's. I didn't think they could score "at will." They did. One early touchdown would not have stopped that.

No way. Our first drive did not do anything to help the D backs cover the WR's or help the entire D from getting ANY pass rush. I stopped watching at halftime. Was our D able to get any pressure or sack the QB even once?

I was just saying maybe scoring a touchdown on that 1st drive would have motivated the offense into play better and gave them more confidence. But yeah our defense is a hot mess.

An emphatic YES!!! Once we settled for the field goal, I knew we were cooked. Their defense was walking around clueless. We marched it down their throats. They thought they were in for a long night.

I was screaming for CPJ to go for it. Once we settled, it gave their defense momentum. They were expecting us to score and you could see it in their eyes.

Instead, we give them momentum then. Once their offense came out and scored, it multiplied the momentum.

The game was lost on the first two drives of the game.

I think if the refs would have called the holding on 3rd and long on Miami's first drive, or the holding on the next play, things may have turned out differently.

That being said, the refs didn't cost us this game. We got outplayed all the way around.

I honestly feel the same way, we may not have won, but it would not have been a blow out.

It's a nice thought, but I don't think a motivating blast like that would've sustained us the whole game. You're right about our D, it's in shambles.

The block in the back that negated Roddy's TD hurt more than setting for a FG on the opening drive.
