Our next QB?

I'd say both Bilbo and Threet thought they would be NFL bound, and Renfree had a cup of coffee in the league.

Billy Lothridge, Kim King (who could have), George Godsey, Donnie Davis (who was #1QB recruit) suggest otherwise.
Godsey was not heavily recruited. Your other examples are from 25+ years ago, which I think does the exact opposite of proving your point.

There are plenty of Justin Thomases out there that have the potential to be great college QBs but lack certain measurables to be successful in the NFL. That is who we should be targeting. Even Joe Hamilton didn't make it in the NFL, and he would be incredibly successful in our offense with his ability to run and throw the deep ball with touch.

You are not getting my point. My original answer to the other post was that Shay Patterson most certainly has thoughts of playing QB in the NFL. Guys of that mindset have no interest in playing in a triple option attack were they get smacked on 80% of the plays, and throw it 6 times a game.

Sure there are good athletes who have a reasonable arm who would play in this system. But not guys who are thinking about the NFL.

You kinda helped me make the point that Tech needs to focus on others than passing or RPO QBs

Oh, I'm not arguing that Shea Patterson would ever want to come to GT, nor would we want him. He doesn't fit our system, but there are plenty of great players who do. We just have to do a better job signing them. Somebody like a Quinton Flowers at USF (3* recruit) would be a great fit.

Davis was a top recruit, but he didn’t come to Tech as an NFL stepping stone.
Godsey? No. The other two were a different era.

Rick Strom?

Couldn't get in.
