We were embarrassed today because our P5 athletes got betrayed by their FCS coaching staff. We fought back after playing terribly for three quarters, found a rhythm, and pulled ahead by ten points with 12 minutes to play. Lost by 11. 21 unanswered in the last ten minutes. It was a team loss for sure. Offense, defense, special teams, and punting. We were poorly prepared, and played poorly to boot. And yet, we had the game in our grasp with 12 minutes left. Hats off to the community college from Tampa. They wanted, and took it. Pssst. Here's a secret: It wasn't Ted Roof, and Nate Woody ain't the answer. USF split four wide frequently and we deployed our defense so as to leave USF with seven on five at the line of scrimmage. It was truly ridiculous.
