With these two studs coming in the fall of '08, we're gonna have a GOOD problem. :wow: Lots of competition and lots of different styles of backs.

CHECK OUT THE AJC

Just wondering, with Evans, Jones, Dwyer, and these two competing, is there ANY chance one of the five might switch positions? The staff may want to keep them all there in case of injuries, but you hate to see ANY of these guys on the sidelines for too long.

I agree. The future does look bright. I don't think I would redshirt any of them. Instead, I would let them compete and see how the depth chart develops. Sadly, someone will get injured or something else will happen. For those that don't earn the "touches", put those guys on special teams.

There is no doubt that Jonathan Dwyer will be “THE MAN” post Choice. However, a solid backup/compliment is always needed. At this point, I would have to say that Richard Watson will be the obvious choice. Embry Peeples, though he is a good back with good vision, will most likely become a special teams…specialist…umm yeah, I guess that works. Anyway, Roddy Jones and Jamaal Evans are an interesting debate. I will go with Roddy for now. Roddy is harder to bring down, protects his body better, but is a little less versatile than Jamaal. Jamaal is also a little more explosive in space. This may translate to Jamaal playing in a wing/slot type of role. As far as a position change is concerned, Richard Watson and Jamaal Evans would have to be the best candidates. Watson could play Linebacker, while Evans could play Corner. However, I don’t think that will happen to either…unless we get another Dwyer type back next year that “THE MAN” torch can be passed to.

Outside of Jamaal Evans none of those guys have played a down of college ball. Some will work out and some won't.

I'd wait until they get some reps before you anoint one of these guys the starter and write others off.

Agreed, but prediction threads are too fun to pass up on ;)
