compared to those at Auburn and Florida. Everyone knows the heat being applied to Ron Zook after that disaster Saturday night, but the Auburn faithful are probably MORE upset. I listened to some of the Paul Finebaum radio show today (which is SO biased toward Alabama and AU). For two solid hours folks were venting, calling for heads to roll, etc. Then Pat Dye comes on and without saying it, says that Tommy Tuberville is in a world of hurt. They were stomped by Arkansas over the weekend and of the remaining games on their schedule, they've got to play Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Alabama. Doesn't sound too good if you ask me.

Folks, say what you want about our new head coach, but he's in MUCH better shape than Tuberville. This is TT's FOURTH year. Chan's still on his first and getting his feet wet back in the college game at a unique program. We'll see where CG is in HIS fourth year before we start acting like the Auburn faithful.

Sad to say, but it DOES give you some perspective on how bad things COULD be. I for one, DO NOT beelieve this will be the case at GT in CG's fourth year. You're more than welcome to throw this back in my face in four years if I'm wrong.

Was thinking the same thing about those 2. U can throw in Sherrill & Miss St along with T Bowden & Clemson. There's now a 'fire Fulmer' website. By far, the loudest are Fla & Aub.
If Gailey doesn't compete for the ACC this yr or next, I may not be very patient. No matter how U cut it, Coach Chan gets a mulligan this yr, based on the injuries & changeover, but if next yr is not an improvement, it's gonna get very negative on the GT web pages.

Gailey is going to be fine... just give the man a chance... I suggest everyone go back and read the Sunday sports pages for our first 6 games in 2000... you just might be surprised....

good post ..

any new coach has to be given a chance to recruit his own players. even B*** L**** was given a chance.

cannot understand why Gailey isn't being given a half ass chance by some people

I think Gailey "can" be a great coach. He seems to be able to adapt well which is why it is soooo hard to understand why Bilbo isn't getting more snaps.

Buzzilla, Bruce Lee is the most fantastic martial arts fighter I have ever seen. I have been told Hollywood had to slow his actions down to produce his films, he was so quick.

By the way, I sent my son through karate training when he was a teenager, and I have financed one of my grandsons in karate also. My grandson just received his first degree black belt prior to enrolling in college this year. My son was one belt away from receiving his black belt and then gave up the training.

Yes, Bruce Lee was an amazing individual that went way too early. I saw a documentary about him last night on AMC before they showed "the game of death". I was so impressed with not only his physical abilities but his spiritual insite. He fought extemely hard to bring "Gung fu" and other martial arts to mainstream america at a time when many Chinese didn't look on this favorably. He took a lot of heat for this. He also worked hard in his own way to change the stereotypical images of Chinese in America. He was a brilliant, tough human being that probably doens't get the credit he deserves for the impact he's had on America.

i for one do not accept this 1st years BS,richt seemed ok his 1st year, willingham seems to be doing good his 1st year, if if remember correctly amato did good his 1st year. if chan doesnt turn this thing by next season, i think he should be gone.

Toe, that bull crap about needing time to bring your own players only applies when a new coach
takes over a moribund program that needs a total
overhaul. Of course losers use it as well.

Big Buck, agree, this team is being coached down instead of up. Gailey inherited a team of gifted and established players, remembering there were nine returning defensive players.

first half showed some promise. second half showed our coaches have no clue in the critical area of halftime adjustments. the Fridge just busted our ass. definitly agree that the team is being down coach.

How's the Picnic now? Looks like we got every G.D. ant in the world eating our lunch.

Well they better be GREAT recruiters. I am still on Chan's side, but O'B has got to go. He played us like saps with all those job interviews last year and the O has done nothing to take any pressure of our D. As far as awbern & uf, at least they are losing to good teams. We are talking about weak and maryhadalittleland. We must beat ugag and you do not prepare for that by recruiting against and trying to beat the acc.
