Unfortunately I haven't had to opportunity to attend a Tech football game not under Gailey's regime. Was there ever a time when Clemson, VT, UGA fans DIDNT fill our home stadium? And our own fans actually filled it up?

Probably not since the 50s or early 60s at least. Just the nature of the school and the fan base.

Well I can't remember the last time we played VT at home so I can't speak to that, but UGAy and Clemson always bring a large contingent. It wasn't as bad during the O'Leary era, but you have to remember the stadium was smaller then.

I've never seen more opposing fans than that Auburn game in 03. That was surreal.

Even if tech fans 100% bought up all of tech tickets, 8-10k tickets would be sold to UGA or Clemson as their allotment.

IF you do the math...8-10k out of 55k is 15-18% of the stadium the opposing fans.

So if we give UGA 10k...that is 18% of the stadium BEST case is the visting team. In a small stadium, visually that is one out of 5....that is alot....but the nature of our allotment. Add in the UGA fans that gobble up other tickets and maybe its 25%...one out of 4 fans....

Still the point is the best we can do assuming the vistors fill their allotment is somewhere between 82-85% tech fans

Back when it had 15,000 less seats. :)

The level of 'tech' attendance has climbed steadily every year since 1997, IMO. (yes, even under Gailey)
