Fsu..Both truly are i.m.h.o. the best College Radio guys in the country...Deckerhoff (The longtime Fsu Radio guy) was on 790 the zone yesterday and he is also the radio guy for the Tampa Bay Buc's just as our own Wes Durham is for the Falcons...I think both are great to listen to...Being at the game I wish there was somehow a way to tape both guys broadcast Saturday and be able to listen after I get home.

I get tired of all this Larry Munson worship from the Ajc and Espn...Give me Wes or Gene anyday of the week...
 
I don't get the Wes worship. I know as much about the down and distance right now on Friday as I would listening to Wes do the FSU game tomorrow.

I always enjoyed Van Note who did color a couple of years back. He understood football, and could explain what was happening.

Maybe he learned basketball from his old man and he is better at that.
 
I agree! Living in Panama City this is big FSU country and Gene makes even a boring game exciting. He's a legend. Awesome talent.

Wes is wonderful too. I can't watch or take in a GT game without having Wes on.

If I could offer one critique (from a fellow broadcaster) though:

Wes, please give the down, distance, score, and time left more often! Fundamentals are what are CRUCIAL to the listening audience. We're not watching and we need to know where the ball is.

We're blessed to have Wes!!
