strong as the Terps. Pound for pound, the Terps were stronger, faster, and more aggressive. There was definitely a strength difference. In the 2nd half, their offensive line was pushing our guys all over the field.

A question that has been running around in my thoughts is: If our recruits have been so much better than everyone else, why are we so much weaker?

What were your observations? Why are we so much weaker when we supposedly have the better athletes?

Is it strength? conditioning? both?

It is hard to figure. It is obvious to me, we do not hit the runner with authority on defense, and we do not lock the runner down on tackles.

It also appears we are moving in slow motion on both the offense and defense. There is speed, which we seem to have in a number of athletes, but we seem to be lacking in quickness.

Our defensive players miss the backs and QB when we get penetration into the backfield. We have missed so many tackles, it is embarrasing. This has been mentioned in about every game we have played starting with the Clemson game. It is mentioned by the TV announcers.

All of these items appear to be lack of our players learning the correct techniques. I have seen some posts questioning our methods of conditioning for our players. They don't seem strong or are using the wrong techniques. All of the above items are teachable items.

I am sure I am not the only one who has observed these deficiencies.

The MD O-line outweighed the Tech D-line in average weight per player of 28 LBS!!!

I don't know about our O-line vs their D-line.

When I asked (at Lunch Bunch) Chan how he viewed our talent compared with top teams in the US, he said we have good talent and speed but give up A LOT IN SIZE. He added that he intends to correct this "size gap" through recruiting.

Maybe he does have a clue. (?)

Two of the Terps Offensive Lineman (Eric Dumas and C.J. Brooks) were not good enough (according to our former staff) to rate scholarships at GT

Coaching can't fix a size problem just try to cover for it. Our entire defense is small. Our DL and LBs can't take on the blocker and defeat him, we can only hold them up and hope for help. MD has a 250# FB as well as 5 300# linemen. Just how is our defensive from supposed to stand up to that w/o help? Then when our DBs come up in run support we get burned by the passing game. It's really no mystery.
