Thanks 2bigs. Very interesting article, though I do think that old saw, "The biggest change in football is between game 1 and game 2," might be a sign for Zemek to put off conclusions one more week.

Part of Manning and Ole Miss's problem was that Vandy played better than expected. and though Clemson stunk, UGetAnEscalade looked good, I hate to say. Auburn clearly can't function without its running game and USC solved that problem. But AU will adjust by the second game and we're going to find out some things about our season.

Gotta agree with him that FSU looked so good it doesn't matter what point in the season it is. Rix has had his personal trial by fire and came out the other side.

I perrsonally enjoyed the hell out of Louisville-UK last night, without a dog in the fight. You gotta love a 300-lb QB running the option.
 
Some things get clearer and others cloudy.Wake F is looking like a LOT tougher win as is UGa.Md just might be vulnerable .Scary that UVa can destroy Dook with a 2nd QB.Clemson has 2 patsies to recover on before us but if we lose to them we can certainly lose to Vandy.-and the prediction that CG will be gone by Md will be hanging in the air like a giant balloon with a huge question mark.
Where is the Citadel when you need them?

Wake's good because of Grobe ... gets everything out of his players and puts them in position to make plays and win (good coaching). We all saw Wake last year do well through the entire season. They lost 3 starters in that game against a decent BC team and adjusted and won! You should read the BC board about Tom O'Brien BC's coach ... CAN YOU SAY FIRE!

Agree with you on VA. 2nd string QB and they still win and Vandy is better (good coaching again). Citidel, Furman where are you? Would have said Conn., but it looks like Randy Edsall is building something there and they're here next season!

You make very good points, AS USUAL.

It certainly appears that all the schools that did their homework and hired enthusiastic, knowledgeable coaches are beginning to reap the successes of their good decisions.

Schools that hired by knee-jerk reaction are, unfortunately, going the other direction....sometimes at a blinding speed. So fast that the excuses can't keep up.
