Just listened to Wes on 790 attempt to put to rest all the speculation about DRad and WM, about how certain people didn't want to hire him. He said that none of that was true.......of course he's gonna say that.
That being said, Johnson was not my first choice, but still is a damn good hire. Maybe he won't be Gomer II, as some think.
Still a little embarrased about the way the Institute handled it all.
My girlfriend's dad runs one of the third party type search companies that help companies "steal" CEOs from eachother. I can assure you it's the same if not worse. It would be interesting to see if searches for CEOs go through the same BS the search for coaches goes through.

I am not embarrassed a bit. And, I was with you on WM. I just don't think he was the chosen one that everyone else thought he was. I know people on this board say that this was Drad's guy. The only source I have personally is an ex-players- brother. This weekend I will find out if I can use his name. Or even better have him post here himself. But, from what I understand is that Jimbo Fisher was the first choice but he gave out mixed signals. So, that being said I wonder if the controversy was over blown here in Stingtalk.
I just hate you caught so much hell for a guy that would definitely bring some fire on the sidelines. That doesn't mean he would have interviewed well in X's and O's; it just means I could have lived with him.
very good post jmt. We'll probably never know exactly how it all went down, but we hired a great coach today, and that's more important than anything else.
I didnt recognize you with the new avatar
