You just wrote an outstanding article on your choices for our Head coach. You detailed in order your choices and gave reasons we should hire them.

Would you please link that article over here? I think it would be great if evveryone could read it. It breaks down each candidate and it is on target...Would you please link the article here?

Why don't you link it?

I appreciate it ivey - I just get tired of people saying, "Can someone link to this article or that video, etc." If you want it linked, link it yourself!

I've got my review of Neuheisel and Hatcher up on the blog, working on Muschamp now and might have it up later tonight.

I'll do Edsall and Johnson tomorrow.

Instead of doing a list, I wanted to devote more info to each candidate running down the history and the pros & cons.

Check them out and share your opinions.

I check MOTG a few times a day. Really like your stuff, keep it up.

"GT Blog Guy" here. You know, I go back and forth on this coaching thing but I do think Hatcher or Johnson is the best choice. Guess time will tell.

Im leaning toward Hatcher now. At 1st I was all for Jimbo Fisher but in looking at Hatcher, he has the most long term upside for us. If he wins at GT, we may have the best chance in him for keeping a Head coach long term. He is from Georgia and most likely would like to stay if successful here.

On Paul Johnson, I've had concerns from day one with him, chiefly the fact that I can't see where any of his teams have ever played defense.

He makes very good points about Muschamp dividing our fanbase right off the bat if he was hired. There is no question, it would be just as the day Chan was hired, and Buzzoff for formed.

Difference is... if Muschamp started winning the critical games, beat Georgia, got us ranked at the end of the season, things that Chan was totally incapable of doing on his best day, then that division would go away instantly.

I'm still pulling for Paul Johnson. I want that guy to be Tech's coach. But Muschamp seems pretty good too. I wouldn't shed a tear if PJ lost out to him.

I don't think there'd be as much divide as you think. There's many on both this board and Buzzoff that like Muschamp. There's not many that are adamently against him. They are out there, but they're not as vocal. I think once the hire is announced, there will be a few vocal oppositions no matter who the new coach is. Once the season starts, the murmuring should subside somewhat. After the wins start to mount - and they should - the murmurs will all go away. Remember, you can never please EVERYONE. The only hire I think that would keep the fans divided would be Slick Rick - way too many oppositions to his hire.

Buzzoff wasn't formed on the first day of Chan's tenure. It was actually a long while before that came along. The original voices against Chan before he ever coached a snap were small in number, but very persistent and loud. After the UGAg loss in 2002, the bottom fell out and the Anti-Chan sentiment was hot and heavy until the Auburn game the next year. It was silent for two weeks, even through the FSU game and then when we got blown out by Clemson it pretty much stayed on.

In this age, whoever comes in will have naysayers. But if they win, and don't lose the wrong games, they will be silenced. Chan Gailey never did too terribly much to help silence the people who opposed his hire.
