Does anyone have any idea where we should park and still be within walking distance of the stadium? I would prefer to park with other GT fans. Second, is it safe to leave my GT flags and banners on and around my car?
Thanks for the info.

I can answer your second question: Under no circumstances should you leave your flags or any other Tech stuff on your car. They will be broken and your car possibly harmed as well.

There are volumes of stories of people's cars being defaced, keyed and even tires slashed.

Pride is wonderful, but there are people up there that don't care for the personal property of others.

Good advice. In 2000, my one-year-old white and gold F150 with Tech plates was keyed (twice) along the right side. I thought I was parking in a 'safe' lot. No such thing in Muttville, evidently.

I never fixed the damage - left it on there as a reminder of Tech's victory.

Better yet, drive a rental or if you value yours and your families safety, watch the game on TV.....

I get asked alot up here why I don't like UGA. Usually my response is that it's not that I don't like them, it's that I ****ing hate them. And they wonder why. And the first memory that comes to mind is when those retards, the same inbreds who think Deliverance is a home movie, came onto my campus in 2003, my beautiful piece of Heaven itself nestled in Atlanta, and cut some of my trees down, for God knows what reason, other then to be the pieces of **** that they are. The head of groundskeeping on West campus would hang out with us during the games, and he was a UGA grad, and he was livid about those assholes. He said, on more then one occasion, that his own alums were the biggest dicks to come onto campus and trash the place. FSU came in second, but the rednecks were by far the worst. So please, if you are going to Athens this weekend for the game, remember, do unto others as they would do unto you, and urinate on as many things as possible. I hate those ****ers.

Park at Clarke Central hs. It's mostly Tech fans, so your car SHOULD be safer. It is Athens, though. Those people are d-bags.

I've been going to this game for years. We park downtown. While I've heard the horror stories, we've never had a problem with any of them damaging our property. Sure, I've had the occasional drunk guy come by and make a smart ass comment, but we've always had a pretty good experience parking downtown. Plus, there are some pretty good places to eat.

I've gotten there early enough and parked in the East Campus deck for free. Not sure if that has changed this year, but as recently as the Auburn game last year, it worked.

Although from there, it's a little over a mile walk to the stadium. But it saves a few bucks, and its a chance to walk by tons of people who will be unhappy by 3:30 this Saturday afternoon.
