In his "Dashies" awards for national and ACC coach of the year...

National:
Coach of the Year -- Nick Saban (5), Alabama. The cynic would argue that the Crimson Tide lucked into four showcase games against teams that turned out to be vastly overrated: Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Auburn. But the realist remembers that nobody on earth predicted 12-0 and a No. 1 ranking for a bunch just one season removed from losing to Louisiana-Monroe and landing in the Independence Bowl. From Shreveport to South Beach in a year? It's possible. Hard as it is to believe, Saban has been a bargain at $3.75 million this season.

ACC:
Coach of the Year -- Jeff Jagodzinski (9), Boston College. Just barely over Paul Johnson of Georgia Tech. Anyone who thought Jags was simply lucky to ride the coattails of Matt Ryan saw this year that's not the case. After replacing 12 starters, including the star quarterback, leading tackler and two leading rushers, the Eagles are right back in the ACC title game.

Really? I usually enjoy reading the Dash and Dashies, but this is crazy... at least CBS and the ACC are showing CPJ the love so far!

Go Jackets!

I was just coming here to post this. Really crazy. Atleast he gave JD the ACC player of the year.

I guess he doesn't realize Paul Johnson beat Jagodzinski head-to-head.

If you read any of Pat Forde's garbage this year, you get the feeling that John Swofford boned his wife or something like that. He obviously hates the ACC, and despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, seems to think that it is the worst conference in the land.

He also called Athens a "great college town" and that alone makes him a total asshat.

What's so damn crazy about giving Jag's the ACC COY award? He did a helluva a job when many picked BC to do poorly. As Pat pointed out, he did this without Matt Ryan, and we all know how good Ryan is.

BC and GT finished with the same record, and both were picked to do bad, but their coaches did good jobs with both teams.

It's not THAT much of a stretch to see Jags getting some Love from some of the media. Stop looking at everything with gold colored glasses.

Probably just doing it to get some attention. He's an idiot either way.

I understand BC outdid expectations, but the only major thing that changed for BC was their quarterback. Yes, Matt Ryan is a big loss but there was no new system (on offense OR defense) and they were picked to win more than 2 or 3 games. What Jagz did is impressive but I can't see him as coach of the year under any argument.

Oh well, Paul Johnson will get his accolades aplenty this year.

I agree with BeerNutts, while I think CPJ deserves it more, this is just this guy's opinion and Jags does have his team in the ACCCG. CPJ is getting plenty of love elsewhere, this guy can have his own opinion, not a big deal to me.

The same Pat Forde that uses preseason rankings to justify why teams are good. The man is a moron and a douchebag.

I agree with beernuts and hdtvfan....

I also agree that PJ deserves it more, but I can see an argument for Jags. He has done an outstanding job (and it pains me to say that because I don't care for him or BC).

And while PJ beat him head to head, it is Jags who has his team in the ACCCG.
