Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech Already Silencing ACC Critics

Good article, but please, please, please don't compare us to ECU.

We are a work in progress, but with a leader with a vision.

1 play - 1 game - 1 season.

They will choke on their dog vomit.

Only pointing out the media comparison. I've had faith in the team from the beginning. I say, until Paul Johnson proves us wrong, we should go into every game believing we can and will win.

I'm buying Clemson tickets if we win at Virginia Tech!

I will agree with that because it reminds me of the beginning of purgatory. This is ECU's highest ranking since they ended 1991 ranked 9th with an 11-1 record. That flash in the pan was enough to bring Lucifer down to the Flats.

Uh...you should have done this weeks ago. Going to the Clemson game should not be contingent on how well we are doing...it should be mandatory, like the U[sic]GA game.

Speaking of the Clemson game, I'm still disappointed with the few responses for the bus we have reserved. But also I thank the guys and gals who did what they said they would do.

Like I said, pick me up on the way out in Jefferson. Its right on the way.;)

ECU has the best QB in the country this year. You clearly haven't watched any of their games.

I watched both their games. What does their QB have to do with anything? Also, I don't think he's the best QB in the country. He runs their system well from what I've seen.

The writer is not comparing how good we are to ECU. He's saying our programs are on the same level.

This isn't a bad article, but it does quote those "legions" of people that said Paul Johnson would fail. At least this one tried to give sources, although SI is probably the worst place to get anything resembling intelligent discussion or predictions.

I am hopeful, but one game is one game.

The predicted problems with the new offense are still there. We have compensated with individual performances of Nesbitt and Dwyer.

And, most important, this article makes the mistake we all tend to make of only talking about the offense. We beat BC with defense folks. They had the opportunities and failed to convert FGs to TDs.

I am hopeful not because I have seen our offense work, but because we have won despite it not working. I see promise. I see open receivers if we could hit them consistently. I see disruption in the defense, when they aren't in our backfield disrupting us. And most importantly I see a defense that doesn't get a chip on its shoulders when the offense puts them in a bad situation.

But I am not celebrating the ACC Championship game just yet. There is still lots of work to do. (And last year's BC quarterback would not have missed the passes that this year's QB missed.)

I know a lot of it is hyperbole for the article, but I didn't hear a single person in the media calling CPJ a bad hire. Nor did anyone predict that he would never succeed at GT.

Predicting mediocrity in the first year of a new system is not a slight. But those making the predictions probably would change based on what they have seen from the rest of the ACC more than what they have seen from GT.

If ever there was a good year to suffer through growing pains in the ACC, this is it.

That's Quote Of The Day right there.

Buy Clemson tickets anyway. Doesn't matter what we do in Blacksburg.

ECU is this year's USF/Rutgers, IMO.

That said, thanks for posting the article, GTH.
