Always looked forward to listening to this over a couple of car drives during the week but man this pre-recorded format is a painful listen. What happened this year that it can’t be live every week?

I've listened to about the first half so far, and didn't find the content much different than a live show. No clapping, no (mostly terrible) call-in questions, and maybe a little less ball-busting from CPJ (but that was more of a thing with Brandon than the new guy, I guess).

Still, the change is bizarre. They way they described it, it sounded like the previous host location declined to renew at the last minute and they had to scramble to find a new location. Still, it seems kind of arbitrary that they're having live shows before home ACC games - that doesn't seem like a limitation imposed by the venue. CPJ and the announcer guy made it sound like they'd rather be in front of a crowd, and I never got the impression that the crowds were either hostile or embarassingly small.

So yeah, I don't mind the studio format, but I'm puzzled by the rationale and reasons for the change.

I’m speculating here, but I expect that the crowds were not as large as the previous venue would have liked and decided that it wasn’t worth it. As you might expect, when team does well, and sustains it, the crowds are good and the attendance really drops off when the struggles to go .500.

Speculating some more, GT is probably having to pay to use the replacement venue and figured that hosting only before ACC games would increase average attendance, which provides leverage for future negotiations, while keeping cost down.

I still want to go to one of the live shows. Just to bust PJ's balls. Or split a pitcher of Bud Light, though I doubt he's kicking any back at one of the shows.
I never paid any attention to his show in Statesboro when he was at GSU. But the basketball coach's show - if you listened closely, you could hear the beer flowing from the pitcher into a glass at the coach's table. Those were fun.

I thought 80k'ers would be having the show at some fancy restaurant
