"We won the game because we went for it on 4th and 19 and we converted because we got big f*cking balls - big, hairy, sticky, smelly, cujones! Any other questions?"

Fixed.

I
I like the "Nasty" addition. Bottom Line: That play won the game - by far and away. It took guts to make that call / very, very, few other coaches would have gone for it there. Most care about there stupid job security more than making a gutsy call and living or dying with the result. You have to give credit to Johnson there and credit the offense big time for executing that play in dire circumstances! Bravo, indeed!

In all seriousness, I thought CPJ called a great game. He managed the time perfectly and made the right decisions about when to go for it and when to punt.

For us to win that game with as lackluster of an offensive performance as we had means a LOT.

The call makes a lot of sense. It was at our 32 yard line with 2:30 left. If you punt and assuming both punts are the same distance, the BEST case scenario is back at our 32 yard line with around 1:20 and no timeouts. What's more likely:

- BC doesn't get 1st down and then TD from 1st and 10 at GT 32 with 1:30 and no TO's.
- A conversion and then a TD from 1st and 10 at BC 49 with 2 TO's and ~2:20 left.

Agreed.

There was no choice. Anybody with half of a brain would have done the same. I agree with you.
