Tonight is GA Tech football night on The Sportsnite Show on CSS. It will come on live at 6 p.m. and then it will come on again tonight at 11 p.m. Paul Johnson will be interviewed.

on call, so will probably miss it. Can someone mention any highlights tomorrow?

Any excerpts from the show? Fortunately the great state of South Carolina only allows USC and Klimpzun propaganda to be broadcast on tv.

Basically, they just talked about the 3-O and how the qb is the key to this offense and how Josh Nesbitt is the ideal qb for this offense. They also talked about how the DLine is the strength of the team. It was a good and positive show. They had former GT players like Dorsey Levins, Marco Coleman, Randy Rhino, Rick Strom, and the qb for the Jackets from the late 50s (cannot remember his name but he played for Dodd). CPJ talked about how Roddy Jones is an ideal A-back for this offense. He also said that just because he didn't pass alot at Navy doesn't mean he won't pass alot at GT. He said we have some good WRs in Bebe, Earls, and Tyler Melton had a very good spring and Nesbitt has a good strong arm and is a accurate and underrated passer.

Randy Rhino said he has talked to some players (mostly jr's and sr's) and they said they are in the best shape of their lives.

thanks gtfan09, good summary. this is really getting me excited for this year!

the QBs from the late 50's is Marvin Tibbetts, who took us to the Gator in 1960 and beat Arkansas. Also talked about how he scored to beat Notre Dame one game. what is weird is that the Wikipedia site for "georgia tech starting quarterbacks" does not list him at all??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Georgia_Tech_Yellow_Jackets_Starting_Quarterbacks

Marvin was one, Walter Howard and Freddy Braselton were others from that time period, IIRC.

that link lists Braselton and then Stan Gann as the starter for '60 before Billy Lothridge came along

Thanks for the posting about the show. As it turned out, I was in hospital all night.

Marvin is correct. I spoke to him not long ago . Great Guy. I remember hearing N.D. game which we won because of his td,

RE: 50's quarterback Marvin Tibbetts. He did play for Tech, believe he was from Atlanta and played his HS ball at old West Fulton High School.

on the air he said (i am paraphrasing):
"being from Atlanta, there was only one choice for my college ball -- GT"

"the reason i came to Tech can be summarized in one word -- DODD"

they showed clips of his runs in some of the games, so i know he played for GT
