I will say this is the only name thrown around that would make any sense.

1. arguably he know the academics b/c of his mill acadamy experience

2. did a solid job at GSU (where I got my undergrad)

3. probably would take the job

Negatives

1. "goofy" offense (like Wake) and I am not sure it can be successful in the ACC
2. ready for BIG TIME?


If CG is going to be "runoff" this is probably a realistic replacement. I don't know if he can do as good or better than CG but I suppose it is possible.

that I am hearing the most "noise" about, but that's probably because some boosters have given his name to Clough.
 
I've been impressed with what I've seen from him at Navy and Georgia Southern.

You don't see the triple option based offense being run at the top levels of college football, but many coaches will tell you it can be done.

The main thing, though, is that I've heard he is able to connect with and inspire his athletes to play up to their potential. One article I read talked about how he totally changed the culture of losing that had settled over Navy and got them to believe they could win. Now look at them.

That Navy team is a heck of a team.
 
Gimmick offense do not win conference championships among the majors...and blue chip recruits definitely do not want to be part of that type of offense.

that I don't think that CCG should be canned this year. I feel like I've been truhtful about my view of the program and I'm sorry it doesn't match your reality.

As for the subject of the post and comments about the option. The most recent (2) times that we have been successful have been with an option set offense. This is the best way for us to be competitive on the major Div-1 level. We'll never have the most skilled players but we can sure as hell run all the mis-directions and options that we can to keep others on the ropes.
