“With some segments of the public, the perception of the university, rightly or wrongly, is largely determined by the success of the athletic program,” Falwell said. “Athletics is the only involvement most of the public ever have with a university.”

.Interesting. point

All I can say is "What does this have to do with us?"

We are an Institute.

Speaking of interesting points, WTF is going on with the punctuation here? A period at the beginning and in the middle of your thought? Hate to break it to you, but I don't see that fad catching on.

Yea, I don't buy that line one bit. It's an AD justifying a stadium expansion. America, by and large, has gotten increasingly stupid, but we're not at the point yet we're a hiring manager is going to ask what your school's record was for the last three seasons during a job interview.

The only thing you can say here that's I'd partially agree with is that D-1 schools are perceived to be bigger, and possibly better, but that hasn't seemed to hurt MIT any.

Yeah, the stupid redneck inbred portions of the population, ie UGA fans.

In related news, studies have found that Tim Tebow is more famous than Floyd Schhumperson, the University of Florida's top professor of Basket Weaving Philosophy. This is proof that your employer cares more about football.

I'll break it down.

At first I was just going to put the period, with no text (something is required to submit a post - can't submit just a quote). Then I was just going to say "Interesting" Then I decided to add point, and did so without removing any periods. Submitted, looked at it and said "Damn."

Didn't feel like fixing it.
