PJ to look at Burnett at QB?

I just caught the tale end of yesterday's PJ interview replayed on 790. So much so that I only heard PJ sign-off but the subsequent banter between Steak and Cellini sounded as if PJ was going to seriuosly take a look at Morgan Burnett at QB. I know it's been discussed here before but... DEMs or Hiveredtech - y'all hear anything?

Hmmmm, don't know if that would be much of a look. He belongs on the D.

Yeah this kid is an NFL star in the making. Why would he ruin that by making him an option QB? I seriously doubt he gets the job. Maybe it is to promote more competition with Nesbitt in the spring.

all PJ said was that the best QB on the team for his offense might be playing in the defensive backfields right now. i dont think he was being specific about a specific player, just commenting in general about not having seen any of the players on the field and not really being able to fully evaluate them because of that. i think he meant, we'll see what we got. the comment came after he was asked if TW or JS could be the starter next year, IIRC.

i doubt he was talking about moving MB to QB, that is just typical sports radio nonsense

I heard it was said that Dominique Reese will get a look in the spring...as well as others that may have played QB in high school.

MB and Donley were flat out told they could be an NFL caliber pair at S if Donley stuck it out here.

I honestly today, don't think the plan is to move MB. 1) we are perilously thin at S and 2) the option at QB (nesbitt) is FAR better than the option at S if Burnett moves to QB 3) Reese may get looks but my bet is he stays at CB as he was playing well there and we are thin there too.

I know we are thin at QB, but my point is nesbitt is far better than any backup options you would have to use on defense if you pulled MB over

That Simms looked pretty good running the TO on the tapes they were showing.

We already have our best option sitting at the QB position, if another player feels he can contribute there he will get a shot at it. Morgan knows where his best position is at.

Thanks dem that makes me feel better abt morgan staying at S.

beej67,
..just kidding around

Just too bad we don't have two Morgan Burnetts, maybe we do? I can see this guy being an awesome option QB. Who do we replace him with in the DB?

FEEL THE JOHNSON! GO TECH! GO JACKETS!!!

Maybe he can go both ways? Seriously, how hard would it be to play both safety and QB?

The most crucial issue here is practicing/preparation for both positions each week. I don't see how you could do it with the amount of information it would take in all the offensive and defensive meetings and practice reps.
