Even though it is a video game I think this video will give you an idea of the kind of stuff PJ runs. In this vid the guy is using Navy's playbook. PJ primarily runs the triple option out of the Flexbone. As you can see there are a multitude of possibilities that can come of this formation.

...a version of the spread offense. This is a lot of the same stuff Ralph Friedgen ran for years at The Flats.

It will work...he will win...quit our bitching...trust the guy. Who knows, for all we know we will still hire Muschamp? He's not my #1 but I would support him 100%.

PJ would win...so would Hatcher.

I'm starting to warm to the idea of Paul Johnson as head coach.

My ONLY concern with Johnson, is, his committment to defense. I don't see in his past that Defense was a priority. We can't win in the ACC without a good defense. Hopefully, he would be different here at GT and hire the very best DC.

He has a gameplan where his offense takes up to 30 minutes to score. The opponent only gets one possession and we get two. We will win every game 14 to 7.

Just checked the Navy football website. Over the past 3 seasons, PJ's offense has 8 losses vs 6 wins against BCS teams (3 of those wins were vs. Duke, and 1 was vs ND this year).

With talent that doesn't even compare to what Duke is able to recruit.

Did I miss something? Are Dook and Nobody's Dame playing in the BCS?

Navy had a run pass ratio of 6:1. To compare that to Friedgen's offense is completely stupid. Sure, Ralph ran some option. He ran a little of everything to keep defenses off base. But to somehow equate Johnson's offense to Ralph's qualifies for the dumbest post ever to use bandwidth.

Says who? DUke has very strict academic standards. Go ahead and say PJ will win more games vs good BCS teams week in and week out like Clemson, FSU, and UGA at GT because he will be able to recruit such "better talent". I hope Santa comes down my chimney at Xmas too.

How about Hawaii?

In Garrett Gabriel's senior season at Hawaii in 1990, he passed for 2752 yards and 25 TDs. Damn that run-oriented Johnson offense for holding him back!

In a league that throws like crazy and plays no defense. You may as well tell me about your high school coach.

Johnson has NO NONE NADA experience as an assistant, coordinator or HC at a BCS school.

Not sure where people are getting that Navy should suddenly have BCS-level talent. Navy was a doormat for many years before PJ showed up there, even against teams like Duke.

And Duke DOES have more latitude in recruiting than Navy, who has exactly zero latitude. Duke just can't get anybody to play for that awful school.

PJ wasn't my first choice either, but I don't get the hatred people have of him since he became a serious candidate.

I'm not a PJ supporter any more than I'm a CH or WM supporter, but I don't agree that this matters - you've still yet to come up with an argument that I can buy. It seems to me like you just don't like PJ and the 3O. If that's the case then say so, but you have to admit that he has just won wherever he's been. That's more than a lot of guys can say.

And you can't tell me that Navy doesn't have more stringent entrance requirements than Duke for its athletes.

I would actually be kinda excited with him as our coach. We have Nesbitt and Dwyer who could run this offense. On top of that, he will pass if people can actually throw the ball. We know Nesbitt can run, assuming he can pass, we could be very hard to defend with this style offense.

Duke doesn't have size standards as well as academic standards. Navy has to win on athleticism and heart. It's tough to do that.
