As tempting as it may be to trash the coaches and players ad nauseum on this and other board, PLEASE remember that recruits and potential recruits read this and other boards. This is a PUBLIC forum and if you're going to publicly bash GT football on this board, it is NOT going to look very good to high schoolers giving thought to playing at Ga. Tech. NOT TO MENTION what harm it can do to CURRENT players and their families.

If you must vent, please do so with your friends in person, on the phone and via e-mail. For the public good of GT football and Ga. Tech in general, please try to exercise some restraint!

That really sounds nice but somehow this board is not going to be the decision maker for a recruit. How about this, Bowden says Clemson beat Tech why would you want to go there. Richt says Georgia beat Tech, why would you want to go there. Ralph say MD beat Tech, why would you want to go there. And now WFU says we beat Tech why would yo want to go there. I just don't think fans evaluation of the game is that big a factor in a high school kids mind. Like Woody Hayes used to say. I concentrate on the mother. I don't even talk to the kid. I tell the mother she makes the best apple pie I ever ate and that I will take care of her kid for her. That influences recruiting, not rabid fans expressing utter disappointment at a disastrious two years.

Dave Tech, I agree, what we say will have an extremely small effect on a player's choice of schools. It is more likely, the scenario you picture that will prevail. The kids own observation of our coaches, and the tales he is told by other coaches will influence him the most.

Dave, I agree with you about the boards. My gosh, after any particular school has a disappointing loss, boards go crazy. Look at dawgvent last yr. after losses. Did it hurt their recruiting? Don't think so. What hurts recruiting is not very good football, no national recognition.

Couldn't have put it better myself DT. I wish someone could explain to me HOW "bashing" on this board could hurt coaches, players or families of both?! You think this is bashing? Go to F$U or UGAg boards when their teams lose. This is NOTHING compared to other boards I've seen. This is a great place for Tech fans to praise or blow off steam. In the end, we ALL love our Jackets. 4th and 1 and we punt??????!!!!!!!
